FUN FACTS Friday! How many do YOU know?

1. The 1872 historic Centre School was originally called Sarah Grove's School.
2. This one-room schoolhouse was moved from the NW corner of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads to its current location at the St. Peter's Lutheran church campus on Schaumburg Road.
3. It was moved because of the widening of Schaumburg Road.
4. It was rededicated at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Memorial Day, 1985.
5. The Centre School is one of 10 historic locations on the 2026 Schaumburg DIY Tour. Read about the Village of Schaumburg celebration and how to earn prizes: https://www.villageofschaumburg.com/our-village/about/70-years-of-schaumburg
6. This Memorial Day, May 25, 2026—41 years later—you can still visit the Centre School at an Open House from 12-3. New this year is a Silent Auction fundraiser offering unique and historic items. And...if you happen to have any artifacts...let us know!
7. STHS Vice President Pat Barch portrays the "Schoolmarm."
