IDPA is the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios using practical handguns and holsters that are suitable for self-defense use.The main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual. THE ORGANIZATION

IDPA is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and

real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. The organization now boasts membership of more than 22,000, including members in 50 foreign countries. IDPA offers an exciting forum for practical shooters in which truly practical equipment, techniques and courses of fire are mandated. Prior to IDPA, there was no place to compete with common service pistols. There were no shooting sports where your concealed carry holster could also be your match holster without handicap. When you come to an IDPA match, you can not only use your duty/CCW equipment, you can be completely competitive with it! Other shooting sports have become equipment “races”; IDPA will not. If you’re interested in using truly practical pistols to solve challenging and exciting defensive shooting problems, then IDPA is the sport for you.

The Scarborough Fish & Game IDPA discipline has changed its name to Scarborough Fish & Game Action Pistol.

The name change is because we are looking to offer other action pistol formats in addition to IDPA.

Notice of Change of Location of Annual Member's Meeting December 9, 2025 at 7 pm.

Due to the anticipated member attendance at the Annual Meeting, it has been moved to the Sporting Clays Club House on the property. Time and date remains the same.

Good afternoon friends & members:

Just a reminder that club elections will be held Tuesday, December 9th at the main club house promptly at 7:00 PM. This year's elections are probably the most important elections in a long time. The results could change the face of Scarborough Fish & Game for years to come, and affect every discipline. Please make every effort to attend and reach out to other members who may be unaware of the elections. We need every member's participation.

Please note identification will be required to vote, so bring your SFGA membership badge.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the October monthly match scheduled for Saturday 10/18 has been canceled.

Our September Tier 1 monthly match is scheduled for Sunday September 21st. Registration opens on PractiScore Sunday September 7th at 8AM. Walk-in registration the day of the match welcome (registration and check-in opens at 8:45AM). Safety briefing at 9:45AM and first shots at 10AM.
