The Scandinavia Municipal Building has power, and the library is OPEN!
If you can make it in safely, you can charge your devices, use the restrooms, and maybe even play one of our many board games or puzzles and check out a book or two. (Forewarning: the library’s internet service has been spotty, but cellular service for mobile devices seems to be OK.)
Stay safe, everyone!

Report of: Tow Ban
Location: Waupaca County
Date: March 14, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM

Information:

Due to the blizzard like expected weather conditions, a tow ban will go into effect, Saturday, March 14th at 6:00 PM. The tow ban will be lifted when conditions have improved enough to safely remove vehicles. The tow ban is estimated to remain in effect for several days.

A tow ban is put in place when weather conditions make it unsafe to remove crashed or disabled vehicles until weather and road conditions improve. Drivers and occupants will be assisted with transportation to safe locations until other arrangements can be made for removal of their vehicle, after the tow ban is lifted.

Leaving vehicles on scene when they aren’t creating a hazard helps prevent secondary crashes. It also reduces the risk to other travelers, tow operators, plow operators, and emergency responders in low visibility and poor weather conditions.

Slow down, allow extra distance, and travel only if necessary. If your travel is necessary and you come across a disabled vehicle or emergency services, remember to “SLOW DOWN OR MOVE OVER”, the legal requirement.

For additional travel information, visit 511wi.gov, dial 511 or download the free 511 Wisconsin mobile app.

The Scandinavia Volunteer Fire Department would like to introduce our new fire truck! This KME pumper came to us all the way from Hillcrest Fire Company No. 1 in New York State! After over a year of searching, we are proud to have found this truck and hope it will serve our community, for many more years to come.

A BIG thank you to the Town and Village of Scandinavia, the members of the Fire Department, and especially to everyone who has donated to our fire department over the past few years to make this purchase possible. Thank you!

A big thank-you to the Scandinavia Booster Club, Inc. for their generous donation, and continued support to the Scandinavia Fire Department!

Our Club was able to donate $5,500 to the Scandinavia Volunteer Fire Department this year. We are deeply appreciative of the time you spend away from family and the personal risks as volunteer firefighters to protect the community! And helping make the Scandinavia Corn Roast a great event each and every year.
