Rock the Plateau

Highlander is thrilled to welcome one of our all time favorites, the legendary Kathleen Edwards Kathleen Edwards, as Guest Artist at our next Salon Series performance on Thursday, October 24th at 9pm⚡️

Since debuting in 2003, Edwards has released six albums, beginning with the iconic “Failer” through “Asking for Flowers”, up to her most recent release- 2026’s “Billionaire”. Celebrated as one of the forebears of modern alt-country and Americana music, Edwards is beloved and adored by fans and fellow musicians. She has garnered praise from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, The New Yorker, and The New York Times, who praises her “droll, observant and unsparing tone that is all her own. In her best lines, Edwards has the conversational vernacular and emotional eloquence of a great short-story writer.”Along the way, she has also amassed countless nominations for JUNO and Americana Awards and, in 2012, was awarded the SOCAN Songwriting Prize🫶

Her incredible catalog exists on repeat in all of our favorite playlists and her most recent album “Billionaire” is sure to contribute to the mix. Evoking her debut “Failer”, the new 10-song album is full of Edwards’ trademark lyrical sharpness and unflinching observations and was produced by Jason Isbell and Gena Johnson🤌

Come commune with this legendary artist by candlelight in our cozy mountain tavern, as only Highlander can do it. Welcome to Peak Fall, Friends🍁✨🫶😮‍💨

Sometimes our Salon Series nights are soft. Intimate. The kind of night where you can hear a pin drop between verses and every word lands.

And sometimes... we get loud.

We think Bobby Bare Jr. is going to be one of the loud ones — and we can't wait. When your dad is country legend Bobby Bare, your mentor is Shel Silverstein, and your day job is playing guitar in Guided by Voices, you're bound to bring something new and different to the table.

Join us at the Highlander Mountain House on Wednesday, September 24th at 8:30 PM for a night of raw, riotous, unmistakably alive live music. This is what the Salon Series is all about: getting up close with artists who know how to move a room, in a setting built for exactly that.

Come out, grab a seat, and have some fun with us.

We are so excited to add this to our amazing Fall lineup! Don't miss this opportunity to see Bobby Bare Jr. in an intimate setting. Let's Rock the Plateau!

We are pleased to welcome Bobby Bare Jr. to our Salon Series at Highlander Mountain House. Bobby could’ve phoned in a career. He could’ve exploited the fact that he’s the son of iconic Country Music Hall of Famer Bobby Bare, was born into Nashville’s Music Row elite, and counted artists like Shel Silverstein as close family friends and George Jones and Tammy Wynette as next door neighbors. Instead, Bobby blazed a path of unique songwriting craftsmanship with a voice that blows through you like an unyielding wind on the desolate prairie.

Throughout his career, Bare has shown his ability to combine country, rock, folk, grunge, and rockabilly into one bizarre stew. He’s made multiple solo records, recorded and toured as a member of Guided by Voices, along with recording and touring with his band, Young Criminals Starvation League. He’s one of the most interesting and authentic artists we know, and we can’t wait to have him in our cozy Ruffed Grouse Tavern.

Tickets available on our website or link in bio 🎟️
