I have not had time to TNR much in quite some time. I've been focusing on getting my rescue set up and a million things that go along with that! I have some more time now and really want to get back to helping the community with the feral cat population!
I will NOT be trapping in Alamance county because it's a 4 month wait for their Mighty Mouser program! Luckily the Orange County shelter is the exact same distance from my house.
If you have stray or feral cats on your property or you know of some in public areas who need help, let me know! I do not and have never made money doing this, I just ask for help covering my gas and bait for the traps.

These are just some of the cats I’m currently trying to find loving homes for!

I’m teaming up with another rescue to get them all spayed/neutered and adopted. We’re also both actively trapping to TNR cats at other locations which means we have a LONG list of cats needing appointments! We will be using every clinic that will let us take cats in which means we will be driving all over the place! On the plus side of that, we can meet adopters in different areas. I'm in Saxapahaw, NC and the other rescue is in Wilson.

If you’re interested in adopting one of these babies, PLEASE reach out! We can prioritize the cats with interested adopters to make sure they’re neutered first.

Even if you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST. With 40 cats needing homes we need all the help we can get!

Benji has found the perfect home!! This baby spent the beginning of his life living on the streets, being fed by the neighborhood he wandered for a year before I could get my hands on him. He was scared of everything! I have watched this boy blossom and now I get to watch him go to a family where he will be treated like a king! I am going to miss him but I am so happy!

Another rescue in NC reached out to me wanting to help at the house with 40 cats! 🥳🥳
We are going to meet this week and get to work so there will be two of us going to a few different neuter clinics around the area! This was going to take forever by myself so I am very happy! I'm trapping to TNR at another place this week too. 🤦‍♀️🤣

🚨🚨🚨PLEASE SHARE!!!!! I went to meet the cats in Zebulon today and they're beautiful!!! They are all very very friendly and there are LOTS OF KITTENS!! Im going to work on getting them neutered. If there are any rescues who can help me I would really appreciate it! This is A LOT for one person!! They're all available for adoption too! PLEASE SHARE!!!!!

I am going to be driving all over the state to get these 35-40 cats neutered and can use some help!

Update on Bagel!

Poor baby is very obviously feeling awful. He’s extremely lethargic and hasn’t eaten since yesterday morning. He’s also breathing through his mouth so I’m sure his sinuses are really swollen.
On a positive note, the swelling in his face has gone down enough that he's able to open his eye again but the abscess is still draining A LOT. I have him in a crate and he’s so exhausted he doesn’t seem to mind.
Bagel is such a sweet, snuggly little kitty It breaks my heart seeing him like this. I’m keeping a very close eye on him and will continue posting updates as he starts feeling better. ❤️

🚨 Bagel had an unexpected trip to the emergency vet last night and we really need help with his $600 bill! 🚨

Yesterday morning I noticed Bagel’s only eye was watery. I assumed he was developing an eye or upper respiratory infection, so I started antibiotics and didn't think much of it. It got worse VERY fast which is not normal so I made him an appointment at my regular vet for today. As the day went on, he got WAY WORSE. By 6pm his face was swollen, there was blood and pus pouring from his eye and nose and he had a huge lump on his forehead. I had never seen this happen before so I panicked and immediately put him in the car then headed to the emergency vet.

It turns out Bagel has an abscess on his forehead. What I thought was nasal and eye discharge was actually pus/blood draining from the infection. The vet couldn’t find an obvious cause and believes it may have started from a small scratch, with the infection building for quite some time before I could see any signs.

Bagel was also very dehydrated so he must not have been drinking water or eating much and they gave him sub q fluids via IV.

For the next two weeks Bagel has to stay crated, wear a cone, and take two different antibiotics while we make sure this infection clears completely.

Unfortunately, this emergency visit came at a really difficult time for me. I’m already not accepting new fosters because I need to catch up on existing bills, and the low-cost clinic I use has closed.

A rescue out of Wilson reached out to me and want to help so we're both going to be picking the cats up and taking them to different clinics to be neutered over the next few weeks. ALL OF THESE CATS STILL NEED HOMES!!!

🚨🚨🚨These cats need help! The people who have been caring for them are having health problems and have to move to a place where they can't take their animals. This poor family's life is falling apart in front of them. There are 40 cats here!!! They need a rescue to help or adopters! It's my understanding most are not neutered due to lack of resources in the area. There are males and females of all ages and colors!
If you can help with any of these babies please let me know!!!!

There is no blood test in a shelter. There is a person, a clipboard, and about four seconds of looking at a dog to make a guess.

Researchers put that process to the test with 120 dogs and 16 shelter staff members, including veterinarians. The visual guesses matched the DNA results for only about a quarter of the dogs, and staff applied the pit bull label to roughly twice as many dogs as the DNA supported. Of the dogs whose DNA showed no Staffordshire ancestry at all, more than a third still got called pit bull by at least one assessor.

That guess does not stay on the clipboard. It follows the dog into insurance policies, rental applications, and city ordinances that were written as if the label were a fact.



The dog does not change when the label does. Only the way people treat him changes. Has anyone ever guessed your dog's breed and gotten it completely wrong?
