Owen Skinner, BVSc, DECVS, DACVS (Small Animal), ACVS Fellow, Surgical Oncology

Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgical Oncology - University of Missouri

Dr. Skinner is associate professor of surgical oncology at the University of Missouri. Dr. Skinner qualified as a veterinarian in 2010 at the University of Bristol and undertook an internship at Northwest Surgeons, a multidisciplinary referral practice in northwest England. Following this, he completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Florida. He returned to the University of Bristol for a residency in small animal surgery in 2012. Following the completion of his residency in 2015, Dr. Skinner returned to the University of Florida for a fellowship in surgical oncology. Since completion of his fellowship training, he has been working primarily in the field of surgical oncology at the University of Missouri. His research interests include neuroendocrine tumors, soft tissue sarcoma, and lymph node staging and management and he currently has 47 publications in his name.
Owen is a diplomate of the European and American Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons and is the current president of the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology.

Daniela has been an EEBVS-recognised specialist in small animal surgery since 2006. She achieved RCVS specialist status in 2014 and, more recently, GP certificates in small animal soft tissue surgery and oncology status. Since 2010, Daniela has held positions as soft tissue surgery senior clinician, senior lecturer and head of soft tissue surgery within private and academic referral institutions in the UK.
She is an active member of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) and has been chairperson of the ECVS credentials committee. Daniela contributes on a regular basis to national and international conferences, and soft tissue surgery courses. She has undertaken advanced training in interventional radiology, which is one of her main interests, together with oncological surgery, surgery of the respiratory tract and management of urinary incontinence

PD Dr, DECVS Senior Surgeon at the University of Zurich's Small Animal Clinic

PD Dr. med. vet. Mirja C. Nolff is a distinguished veterinary surgeon specializing in soft tissue and oncological surgery. She serves as a Senior Surgeon at the University of Zurich's Small Animal Clinic, where she focuses on surgical oncology, reconstructive surgery, and the application of near-infrared fluorescence in tumor surgeries.
Dr. Nolff earned her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover in 2007. She subsequently completed an internship and assistantship at the same institution, achieving the German specialization in Small Animal Medicine in 2012. She then pursued a surgical residency at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, culminating in her certification as a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS).
Her research interests include oncological surgery, reconstructive techniques, sarcoma therapy, near-infrared fluorescence imaging, and addressing antibiotic resistance. Dr. Nolff has been instrumental in developing national Swiss guidelines for antibiotic use in small animal surgery and is an active member of the European Network for Optimization of Veterinary Antimicrobial Treatment (ENOVAT).
In 2016, Dr. Nolff was honored with the ABCD & Merial Young Scientist Award for Clinical Research, recognizing her innovative work in negative pressure wound therapy for feline patients.
Dr. Nolff is a member of several professional organizations, including the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology.
