The Dolphin Project

🐬 Fun Fact Friday! 🐬

Did you know dolphins can recognize themselves in a mirror? 👀

This is considered a sign of self-awareness — something only a few animals on Earth have demonstrated, including great apes and elephants!

Next time you spot a dolphin, remember: you’re looking at one of the smartest animals in the ocean. 💙

Big things are happening at The Dolphin Project in 2026 — and we’re just getting started.

We’re excited to officially launch our new website and social media platforms as we continue expanding dolphin research, conservation outreach, and community engagement along the Georgia and South Carolina coast.

And during Giving Week 2026, your support goes even further.

For a limited time, every new recurring donation of at least $5/month unlocks an additional $10 donation from Givebutter to help support our mission.

For more than 35 years, our volunteer-powered team has worked to:
🐬 Identify individual dolphins through photo-identification
🌊 Monitor dolphin populations and health
📚 Contribute critical data to researchers and conservation partners
💙 Inspire conservation throughout our coastal communities

Now, we’re growing our outreach and bringing more people into the mission than ever before.

Visit our new website, follow along, and help us grow our impact in 2026.
