WE HAVE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE! πŸ†

Founder, Ebony Huell, is honored to be recognized with an award celebrating our community impact and service during the Gullah Geechee Junkanoo Festival at Brookgreen Gardens.

Over the past 5 years, we’ve helped deliver $5+ MILLION in resources and goods to individuals and families.

But this award isn’t about one person.

IT’S ABOUT THE TEAM. πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Our volunteers. Our donors. Our board. Our partners. And everyone who showed up and said, β€œHow can I help?”

A special shoutout to Lakatia Myers, Takara Meyers & Zoe Drohan- three young women who grew from quiet observers into confident, productive women through encouragement, opportunity, and being nurtured. ❀️

And to my parents, Dale & Sherry Hughes, Mr. Marvin Neal, Mrs. Laura Westby and Ms. Joan Dore- thank you for believing in the vision and supporting the journey. And to Board Member, Ms. Natosha Heyward, thank you for accepting this award on my behalf and putting countless hours in to support the mission. Thank you to the group that nominated me.

7 Dimensions Outreach is now AAIG Foundation. The name changed. The mission continues. The focus is sharper. And the best is still ahead!

πŸ™πŸ½ All glory to God.

This award belongs to the TEAM!

Take advantage of your local resources. Many SC fire departments are supporters.

We are happy to announce Georgetown City Fire Department now supports the Vial of Life program! Packets are ready to be distributed to city residents today.

What is Vial of Life?

Vial of Life is an information sheet that contains all the pertinent information if fire and EMS is called to your home. Simply fill out the form, place it in the baggie and place it on your refrigerator door. Then put the sticker on your front door or window so fire/EMS can see it.

The system aids our members in finding important medical info in the event of a medical emergency. These situations are stressful and having a quickly available information sheet makes our jobs much easier.

Interested? Simply stop by City Fire Station 1 at 1405 Prince Street or call (843-545-4200) and schedule it with one of our crews and we will be happy to come out and check your smoke alarms and help you start the program.

For more information or if you would like to purchase your own kit, please see Vial of Life website: https://www.vialoflife.com/

Here’s a message from SC Thrive:

Key Points for SNAP Households:
October benefits have already been disbursed and can continue to be used as normal.
Households are encouraged to budget carefully any remaining EBT funds.
Local food banks and pantries across the state remain open and available to help families in need:

Golden Harvest Food Bank
Harvest Hope Food Bank
Lowcountry Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

Households are also encouraged to safeguard their benefits by locking their EBT cards when not in use and updating PIN numbers frequently to help prevent fraud.

Temperatures are soaring outside- be careful!
Leea, our intern from the Coastal Carolina University, sacrificed being in the heat to serve our Georgetown County Senior citizens in the Farmers Market Vouchers pick up line. The event was hosted by Georgetown Vital Aging.

Seniors are a vulnerable group and we are able to help with applications for Long Term Care (LTC) and other social service assistance such as SNAP, Medicaid, Medication Assistance, TANF and more!

Stay hydrated and as cool as possible. 888-262-1932
