This past Saturday, Parent University was back at White Bluff Elementary!

Parents spent the morning learning practical tools they can use at home, meeting other families, and talking with community partners who care about their kids’ success. Some were there for the first time. Others have been coming for years.

Parent University started right here in Savannah more than 25 years ago, and sessions like this one are still the heart of what we do. Thank you to the White Bluff Elementary team for hosting us and to every parent who showed up.

Our last session at DeRenne Middle School was one to remember.

Principal Tammy Broadnax welcomed everyone into her building, and she knows this program well. She once served on the Parent University board, so seeing parents fill her school to keep learning meant a lot to her.

We also had some special guests. A group from Waynesboro, Georgia drove down to see a session in action and hear from the families who make it work. They left with plenty of ideas to take home.

Thank you to every parent who showed up for themselves and their kids. Thank you to our community partners and vendors who came out to support, share resources, and learn right alongside everyone else. None of this happens without you.

What a way to start the year!

Saturday was our first Parent University session of the 2026-27 school year, and the room was full. Parents came ready to learn, ask questions, and connect with each other. That's what this is all about.

One moment we'll be talking about for a long time: a bus full of parents from Waynesboro pulled up to join us. They've been building a Parent University of their own in their community, and they came to Savannah to learn alongside us. Seeing parents pour into other parents, across county lines, is exactly the kind of thing that makes this work worth it.

None of it happens without our community partners. Thank you to the instructors who led sessions on Saturday and to the vendors who set up tables and met parents right where they are.
