Magnolia Park Neighborhood Association Welcome to Magnolia Park and the Magnolia Park Neighborhood Association. Information and background on the historic Neighborhood of Magnolia Park

The Magnolia Park Neighborhood Association (MPNA) was originally formed in 1972 with 26 members, of which several still reside in the neighborhood. These responsible residents are the voice for all citizens living in the 420 home area of the Magnolia Park and Blueberry Hill subdivision, bordered by Derenne Avenue, Skidaway Road, Bona Bella Avenue and the Truman Parkway. The MPNA acts as well as so

und board for residents concerns in a variety of areas and helps to bring neighbors together by organizing an annual Picnic, the 4th of July Barbeque, Halloween for the kids and the Holiday Season Decoration and Caroling events. All offices and committees of the MPNA are held by volunteers and every event is organized and carried out by neighborhood supporters. The neighborhood association has been a major factor of keeping not only traditions alive, but as well addressing issues that involve our beautiful neighborhood and help longtime residents and newcomers come together and make this neighborhood a great place to live. Come and participate in the efforts of our neighborhood.

A message from the Historic Neighborhood Designation Fundraising Committee:

Hi Magnolia Park Friends & Neighbors!

You may have seen a number of us walking around the neighborhood this past weekend to share information about the Historic Designation we voted to pursue at the last Neighborhood Meeting. We have made a good deal of progress sharing flyers about the project, but still have a few more blocks left to cover.

We are hoping to move forward with the Historic Designation because:

o It can help keep property values stable
o It's a prestigious designation for your neighborhood/Preserves history
o Does not limit what you can do to your home
o It gives our residents a "seat at the table" for possible expansion projects that may impact us

The price required to continue the project is $6,000 (needed for the attorney.) Of that money the balance we need to raise is $4,625. Our goal is to try to raise these funds to begin work on March 1. If you wish to donate you can:

1) Send a check to:
MPNA - Historic Designation
P. O. Box 13724
Savannah, GA 31416
(Be sure to include your name and address!)

2) Pay online! Go to www.Paypal.com and
from there click the link “Send.”
From there it will be possible to
send a payment to any email address.
To avoid fees, send as friends/
family using the email address:
[email protected].
If there is a place for comment or
memo, type in “Historic Designation.”

A big thanks to everyone who has already donated! I'm happy to answer any questions or drop by a flyer for anyone that wants to discuss this project in person! :)

PayPal is the faster, safer way to send money, make an online payment, receive money or set up a merchant account.

Historic Designation Fundraising

This message is from Barbara Sheehan:

Hi everyone, I am soliciting your help in knocking on neighbors' doors to ask for donations to the fundraising effort to complete the Historic Designation process for Magnolia Park and Blueberry Hill. We need $6000 to start the project March 1 and we currently have $1375 which means we have $4625 to raise. If every household in the neighborhood (410) gave $25, we would be well over the top.

This fundraising project will start this Saturday, December 1 at 10:00 at my house at 2008 Cokesbury Drive where you will be given a packet of information to help you address the need with our neighbors. The plan is to make a big push this weekend, followed by another push the following weekend (if you did not finish your block), OR you can wait until January 13 or 20 to finish up. The committee feels that door knocking and actually speaking with neighbors will result in reaching our goal faster and maybe with less events.
Please let me know by Thursday (11/29/18 - [email protected]) if you are willing to take a block or two to help with this effort. If you have neighbors that might want to help, invite them to come Saturday. I have quite a few other names of people that might want to help but no contact info. We will be working to add these folks to the cause.

Once we hand out the materials, we can set upon our task. If you are unable to come Saturday at 10:00 but are willing to help, please let me know and we will make arrangements to get the materials to you.

Thank you,

Barbara Sheehan, Mary-Pat Murphy, Holly Elliott, and LeAnne Consos

Buy-in is $20 and 50% percent of the pot goes to the pool. We will play under the roof, rain or shine, and until there is a winner or the final two agree on a disposition.

No need to RSVP. Just show up, we hope to have a large crowd with multiple tables.

See you all there.

Thanks to all of you who have purchased your BBQ tickets for Tuesday night. Still have a few left and a limited number will be available Tuesday night for $10. You do not have to purchase a BBQ ticket to enjoy the fireworks which will begin around dark but we are asking for a cash donation to cover the costs of the fireworks. I am very excited about this event and look forward to seeing you all there. If you have any further questions just message me here and I will fill you in on the details.
