Walnut Grove community members,

We must unfortunately report to you that some time over the past week, the Walnut Grove Heritage Foundation building was broken into and vandalized. Doors, windows and more were damaged; some of which will require complete replacement.

We appreciate the prompt response from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department. A report has been made and increased patrols will be in place. A new camera and alarm system is being installed in order to help prevent something like this from occurring again in the future. At this time, access to the building by anyone not a WGHF board member is not permitted.

There are many changes happening behind the scenes at the WGHF. The new board is working hand in hand with the State of Tennessee Fire Marshal and other local agencies to bring our building up to code, make improvements and ensure that we are here to serve the community for years to come. We look forward to welcoming our new partners!

If you have any information regarding this week’s break-in, please contact Hardin County, TN E911 and the Hardin County Sheriff Department non-emergency number at (731) 925-4989.

MEETING HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO HCMS OPEN HOUSE…new date for community meeting to be announced.

🌳 The Future of Walnut Grove Starts With Our Community! 🌳

Tonight, the 2026–2027 Walnut Grove Heritage Foundation Board held its very first board meeting, and we left feeling encouraged, inspired, and excited about the future of our community!

Now, we want YOU to be just as excited as we are.

📅 Mark your calendars!
Our first Community Meeting will be held:
🗓️ Thursday, July 30
🕡 6:30 PM

This meeting is an opportunity for everyone in the Walnut Grove community to come together, hear about the vision for the future, share ideas, and learn how you can be involved in making our community even stronger.

The agenda for the meeting will be posted prior to July 30, and copies of the minutes from tonight’s board meeting will be available for review upon request.

We believe the best ideas come from the people who call Walnut Grove home. Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or are new to the community, your voice matters, and we’d love for you to join us.

Together, let’s preserve our heritage, invest in our future, and continue building a stronger Walnut Grove for generations to come.

We can’t wait to see you there!

So excited to see this in our community!

Congratulations to our new elected board members for 2026-2027.

We would like to thank our previous board members for their years of service and dedication to our community. Without them the restoration of our 501c3 and the sale of land for the Dollar General would not be possible. Thank you Becky Highland, Sanders Barnes, Beverly Barnes, Katie Short, and Tristan Williamson. We thank you all for all that you have done! We hope you will continue to serve your community for years to come.

We look forward to the future of the Walnut Grove Heritage Foundation and look forward to working with our community.

Join us on June 22nd to nominate for the 2026-2027 board members.
