Huge thank you to our family, Savannah Legacy Academy, and our amazing military volunteers for showing up with heart, strength, and unity.

Because of you, families in our city experienced hope today.

Empty pews are an American public health crisis. A lack of in-person interaction is weakening the social bonds within churches.

According to data collected in April/May 2020 by Barna Group, one in three practicing Christians dropped out of the church during the covid pandemic. Church membership in the U.S. dropped below 50% for the first time in 2020, according to Gallup data dating back to 1940. The pandemic caused the initial cause of low church attendance, but the drop in church attendance has continued two years later.

The Path Forward Project, an initiative of the Savannah Leadership Foundation, focuses on helping pastors, spiritual leaders, and local congregations regain the necessary resources to mobilize families to return to faith and in-person gatherings.

We had a great time sharing last night with local pastors about our Charity for Change and our Path Forward Initiative. We are excited about the opportunity to partner with 8 to 10 churches to create a capstone project that can change the trajectory of our community.

Capacity Building Solutions is one of the cornerstone services offered by the Savannah Leadership Foundation! We educate, guide and support small nonprofits and for-profit small businesses as they navigate the start-up process or take the next steps to grow and improve their organizations. Our first cohort of five small nonprofits met to define how they will work together as a team while learning from us and learning from each other. The introductory topic focused on strategic planning and the necessity of "beginning at the beginning" - "Business Plan vs. Planning your Business!" Great energy in the room!! We are excited for these leaders and look forward to seeing how their organizations evolve.
We are also excited to be an official Community Partner of Hope City Church! Thank you for this opportunity!

Join Pastor Corey Williams, senior pastor of Hope City Church and the Savannah Leadership Foundation on Monday, April 25th at 6:30PM as they share a unique partnership opportunity with the Eli Lilly Endowment and Leadership Foundations.

Other Important information:
1. Pastors and other spiritual leaders invited
2. Dinner will be served
3. Learn about a grant opportunity
4. Resources to rebuild your in-person gatherings

Empty pews are an American public health crisis. A lack of in-person interaction is weakening the social bonds within churches. The Path Forward Initiative seeks to help pastors and spiritual leaders develop a clear, concise, and compelling Path Forward to help their congregations return to in-person gatherings.

According to data collected in April/May 2020 by Barna Group, one-in-three practicing Christians dropped out of church completely during the covid pandemic. Church membership in the U.S. dropped below 50% for the first time in 2020, according to Gallup data dating back to 1940. The initial cause of low church attendance was caused by the CoronaVirus pandemic but continues two years later due to fear, misinformation, low vaccination rate among certain people groups, the death and resignation of many spiritual leaders and the prolonged pandemic.

The Path Forward Project focuses on helping pastors, spiritual leaders and local congregations regain the necessary resources to mobilize families to return to faith and back to in-person gathering.

Who Are We?

Savannah is a growing city made up of a diverse set of neighborhoods, communities, and people groups and comes with a unique set of challenges.

Savannah Leadership Foundation (SLF) believes that how we engage people and challenges will impact the future success and cohesiveness of Savannah whether for good or ill. SLF sees the city, especially urban neighborhoods as places of promise and possibility, opportunity and faith, rather than risk and uncertainty.

We cultivate this shift in thinking by driving the wheel of permanent change. With leadership at its core, the wheel of change is fueled by three strategic functions- Engaging people of faith and good will, Building the capacity of others and Developing joint initiatives.

Through our efforts we envision Savannah as a model city that will stand as a life-giving playground in-which every citizen flourishes and achieves their God given potential.
