Today is National Rainbow Baby Day, a day that holds a deep and meaningful place in our hearts. A "rainbow baby" is a child born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss—a beautiful symbol of hope and light after a storm.
While our nonprofit was created in memory of Josephine, we know firsthand the profound journey of grief and hope. Today, we stand with every parent who has experienced loss as well as those who have welcomed a rainbow baby. Your stories are a testament to resilience and love.
We see you. We support you. 🌈
This day is a powerful reminder of our mission: to honor our daughter's legacy by supporting those who are navigating grief while some may be navigating new beginnings.
Your support helps us continue to be a source of light for families. Today, on this special day, we ask you to consider donating or sharing our message to help us support our mission.
Today, on National Rainbow Baby Day, we take a moment to reflect on the profound and varied journeys of families after the loss of a child.
For some, a rainbow baby represents renewed hope and the gift of new life following grief. For others, the path of growing their family again may not be possible or may be a choice they have made.
At the SUDC Foundation, we deeply understand the complexity of child loss and the unique challenges it brings to every family. We hold space for all experiences—with respect, compassion, and trauma and grief informed support.
In honor of this day, our Poet Laureate, Rev. Kim Wildszewski, mother of Malcolm, shares a poem she wrote after the birth of her rainbow baby, Otis—a moving reflection on love, memory, and hope.
