USATF JO Nationals may be over but our Thunder athletes went across the country and REPRESENTED! Out of the 67 Thunder athletes who qualified for Nationals, 37 made the trip and their results speak for themselves. Out of the 54 events they contested, the club ended up with:

National Champion - 2
All American (Top 8 in the nation) - 13
Top 15 finishes - 8
Top 25 finishes - 15
Top 40 finishes - 9

The 2025 season was amazing, and congratulations to all our athletes this season who set new PR's, new club records, and showed the PNW and the Nation wherever we go, Thunder is going to roll!

Jaycee Jenkins is one impressive individual with the heart of a champion. After winning the 15/16 Girls 1500m at USATF JO Nationals, Jaycee was one of the favorites going into the 800m. Having posted the 2nd fastest time 800 time in the prelims, Jaycee was poised to finish at the top once again.

Unfortunately in track and field, some things don't go according to plan. With 200m remaining in the final, Jaycee went down hard on the track. While most runners would have eventually gotten up and limped to the finish line, her competitive spirit and heart wouldn't allow that. Jenkins not only immediately got back up to finish the race; she sprinted to the finish and closed within 1.3 seconds of the 5th place runner.

Jaycee Jenkins earned All-American status in the 800m, but also showed how the word quit is not in her vocabulary. And as one of the youngest runners in her division she's poised to come back even stronger next season. Well done, Jaycee!!

What's better than making USATF JO All-American status once? Doing it a second time in the same meet! Emma Hudon refused to back down this week and her determination paid off with another top 8 finish, this time in the 13/14 Girls 100m hurdles. Amazing job, Emma!
