Equipping hearts and minds for the future. 🇬🇹✨

Yesterday at the ministry was a beautiful reminder that discipleship happens in the classroom, the workshop, and everywhere in between.

Our 8–12-year-olds spent the day diving into English through games like Hedbanz and interactive computer sessions. Every new word they master is a door opening to new opportunities, and seeing them laugh while they learn is a joy we don’t take for granted.

Meanwhile, our teenage girls gathered for a creative workshop, decorating mirrors with clay figures. As they worked, we were reminded of the beauty in the process—and the importance of helping these young women see their own reflection through the eyes of their Creator.

We are investing in the whole child, building the skills they need for today and the confidence they need for tomorrow.

What are you most passionate about investing in today? Drop a comment below—we’d love to pray for your week ahead. 👇

They aren’t just students—they are ministers of grace. 🕊️

In Zone 3 of Guatemala City, life is often defined by what is lacking. But today, our students chose to define their community by what they can give.
These young leaders walked into the heart of the city dump area, not as spectators, but as neighbors carrying the love of Christ. They identified the elders in their community who were most in need of care, delivered essential medicine and hygiene supplies, and—most importantly—laid hands on them to pray.

This is the Gospel in motion: faith without works is dead, but faith at work changes everything. (James 2:17)

Beauty is found in the mending. ✨

In the heart of Zone 3, Guatemala City—just steps away from the largest landfill in Central America—something miraculous is happening. 🇬🇹

On a warm Tuesday afternoon, our teenage girls gather for a lesson in Kintsugi. In this art form, broken pottery is repaired with gold, making the scars the most beautiful part of the piece. For many growing up in the basurero, life can feel fractured by poverty and limited options. But as they paint gold onto these mugs (don’t worry—these ones aren’t ACTUALLY broken), they are reminded of a deeper truth: Our scars do not define us; they are where God’s light shines through. 💛

Down the hall, the energy shifts. A younger generation (ages 8-12) is busy mastering a new language. These English classes aren’t just about vocabulary; they are about keys. Every word learned is a door opened toward a future beyond the dump. 🗝️📖

We believe these children are God’s “masterpieces in progress.” Will you help us turn “broken” into “beautiful”?

Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. — John 4:35 🌾✨

We just returned from an incredible journey to Zacapa, but we didn’t go alone. This past week, a team of young leaders from Zone 3, mentored by the passionate staff you support, traveled to Teculutan to host a life-giving Vacation Bible School.
(Slide ➡️ to see the story unfold!)

These photos (1. Inspiration; 2. Preparation; 3. Multiplication) show what discipleship looks like in action. They went beyond the city limits to share the hope and light of Jesus with a new community. They studied, prepared, and served from a place of deep spiritual nourishment. Look at that fellowship and abundance! This is not just VBS; this is the future of leadership in Guatemala being formed today.

As we unwind for the solemn reflection of Passion Week (Semana Santa), we are reminded that Christ’s command was to go. You can equip these young leaders and sustain this vital work.

It’s been a “busy” February in Zone 3—but in the Kingdom, we call it overflow. 🕊️

From the quiet hallways of a retirement home to the focused shouts of the karate dojo, the Holy Spirit is weaving a tapestry of restoration in Guatemala City. 🇬🇹

This month, our kids from the basurero community didn’t just “do activities.” They:
✨ Practiced Honor by serving their elders.
✨ Built Strength through the discipline of martial arts.
✨ Cultivated Future by mastering a new language.

And to tie it all together? Our very own Josué sat down with parents to share the art of photography—empowering families to frame their own stories of hope.

We don’t just want to provide a program; we want to ignite a calling. When you give to Light for the Future, you aren’t just funding a busy calendar—you’re fueling a move of God.

Look closely at these hands.

In the heart of the basurero community, the rhythmic click of a sewing machine is the sound of a breaking cycle. These students aren’t just making drawstring bags; they are learning the language of opportunity—soon, literally.

Between stark lines of code and intricate hems, our kids at Light for the Future are discovering that their location doesn’t define their vocation.

The Truth About This Work: We often talk about “changing lives,” but if we’re honest, we can’t change a single heart. Only God can take a life marked by hardship and weave it into a tapestry of hope. He is the one who gave these students their sharp minds and steady hands. He is the one who moved you to read this far.

We provide the machines. They provide the hard work. But God provides the growth. Will you join what He is already doing in Guatemala City? ✨ Link in Bio to give.

They told these boys they were defined by what the world throws away. They were wrong. 🥋✨

In the heart of Guatemala City’s Zone 3, amidst the challenges of the “basurero,” a different kind of fire is being forged. It’s not the fire of a landfill; it’s the fire of discipline, purpose, and the Holy Spirit.
Last week, we didn’t just see belt promotions. We saw young men rising above their circumstances. We saw “more than conquerors” in the making. In a place where the world sees “the least of these,” God sees His warriors.

“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.” — 1 Corinthians 9:25 📖
These boys are learning that through Christ, they have the power to master their spirits, honor their bodies, and change the trajectory of their families. They aren’t just surviving; they are being equipped to lead.

A massive shoutout to Senseis Juan and Joshua Marroquín. Thank you for investing your time, your heart, and your expertise into these boys. You aren’t just teaching karate; you are teaching them what it means to walk with integrity and strength. 🥋🙏

Will you help us turn these promotions into a permanent future? 🔗 Link in bio to give. Let’s show these boys that the Body of Christ stands with them.

It’s officially Day 1 of the 2026 school year—and the energy at our learning center is electric! ⚡️

But today, we aren’t just opening books; we’re opening software development! Our advanced students are back at Munitec, diving straight into Python.

While the world sees the “basurero” of Zona 3, we see developers, data scientists, and problem solvers. For these students, learning to code isn’t just a hobby; it’s a direct path out of the landfill economy and into Guatemala’s growing tech sector. 🚀

When you give to Light for the Future, you aren’t just buying school supplies. You are buying a seat at the table for a student who was told they didn’t have a future.
