Horizons Savannah Horizons Savannah, an affiliate of Horizons National, provides 6 weeks of summer enrichment programming to under-resourced students in the Savannah, GA area.

Horizons partners with youth, their families and the community to enrich the lives of students with the joy of learning, the skills for success and inspiration to realize their dreams.

participate in rigorous academic study, recreational activities and swimming lessons for 6 weeks out of the summer. We place a high emphasis on retention and our goal is to serve the same students for 9 consecutive summers. In the end, our goal is that these students remain on grade level from Kindergarten through the 8th grade, instead of falling behind due to summer learning loss. Numerous studies and recent research has shown that under resourced students are more disproportionately affected by summer learning loss, losing as much as 2-3 months in reading skills each summer—and the loss accumulates over time setting students back by as far as 2 grade levels behind their middle and upper income peers by the 5th grade. Students attending Horizons reverse this trend gaining on average 2-3 months worth of skills each summer.

Quick update for Horizons Families- as you know our end of program family night at Splash in the Boro was rained out. The dates the park has available for a reschedule are both school nights so out of respect for everyone getting a good nights rest before the school day, we will not reschedule for this year. We look forward to Splash night 2027!
