The Purposes of the PTA are:

To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, places of worship, and throughout the community;
To raise the standards of home life;
To advocate for laws that further the education, physical and mental health, welfare, and safety of children and youth;
To promote the collaboration and engagement of families and educators in the education

of children and youth;
To engage the public in united efforts to secure the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being of all children and youth; and
To advocate for fiscal responsibility regarding public tax dollars in public education funding.

The Savannah Chatham Council recently had the privilege of visiting the School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High, where we received a thorough tour and enlightening introduction to the program. Savannah High remains dedicated to equipping students with the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a predominantly STEM-driven world.

Jenkins High School students and students at The Learning Academy at Jenkins High School will be released early today due to an unexpected plumbing issue that has rendered the school bathrooms inoperable. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff, school dismissal will take place today at 11:30 a.m. Maintenance crews are working onsite to identify the problem. School lunch will be provided to students in a grab and go format. All walkers and car riders will be released as normal. School bus transportation will be provided for bus riders and buses will run their regular routes and stops. Updates will be shared as soon as more information becomes available.

Any eligible registered Chatham County voter desiring to vote in advance during this period may do so in person. No reason is required.
