Women's Board of Bethesda

Women's Board of Bethesda The Women's Board of Bethesda (WBOB) is a 501 (c) (3) organization with 50 active members and a strong sustainer membership. Why do we do this?

Our purpose is to "enrich and improve the lives of the boys at Bethesda Academy." The WBOB has played an active role in the life of Bethesda since 1914. As we interact with these young men, we help to reinforce the principles established for Bethesda in 1740 by George Whitfield: "Love of God, Love of Learning, and a Strong Work Ethic." Throughout the year, the WBOB provides many levels of support

to the students. One of our greatest joys is our involvement in the cottage renovations. Other events we help with include Honor roll parties and an annual essay contest. In order to support the crucial projects, we hold various fundraising activities. Because Bethesda actively researches and implements the best and most current ways to instruct young men from the 6th-12 grades. This allows them to serve a diverse student population and offer a variety of educational opportunities for students with different learning styles. 95% of our students graduate on time, with 88% going to college and the other 12% going to either a Technical college of joining the Military.

We are so grateful for those who have donated navy blazers, dress shirts and neck ties but we could still use more for the boys. Please consider donating during this holiday season.
