🚧 Exciting Safety Upgrades at VFW Post 660! 🚧

If you stopped by the Post today, you might have noticed some hard work happening right out front! We just had a new, permanent concrete landing poured at the base of our main front stairs.

Why the construction? The ground at the bottom of the high-traffic stairs had washed out, creating a serious tripping hazard (we even had a recent twisted ankle!). To ensure everyone can enter and exit the Post safely, a beautiful new half-moon concrete pad was poured to seamlessly connect the stairs directly to the patio pavers.

The best part? This crucial safety and aesthetic upgrade was 100% funded by a very generous donor! It didn't cost the Post a dime. We are incredibly grateful for our community stepping up to keep our members and guests safe.

A massive thank you to Terry Mikell Sr. and the hardworking crew at Solid Foundation Concrete Finishing LLC for tackling this project so quickly after it was approved at our last meeting. As you can see, their team did an incredible job mixing, pouring, and finishing the concrete to get our entrance in top shape. "Quality over Quantity" is their motto, and it shows!

If you are looking for professional, reliable concrete work, we highly recommend checking them out: https://solidfoundationconcretefinishing.com/

Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you all step onto our new landing very soon! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Honoring our nation's colors this Memorial Day at VFW Post 660. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, our Post came together for a solemn and moving Flag Retirement Ceremony, overseen by Senior Vice Commander Sean Flynn. It is our duty and privilege to ensure that American flags that have served their time flying proudly are retired with the dignity and respect they have earned. This year, we were deeply honored to receive and respectfully retire unserviceable flags sent to us from communities all over Coastal Georgia and South Carolina.

Thank you to all the members, Auxiliary, and volunteers who participated in reading the dedication, folding the colors, and standing watch as we respectfully committed these flags to the fire. It is a powerful, humbling reminder of what this flag represents and the sacrifices made by our fallen heroes to keep it flying.

God bless our veterans, and God bless the United States of America. πŸ¦…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

πŸ“Œ POST β€” Officer Installation | 2026–2027

At our May meeting, VFW Post 660 officially installed our leadership for the coming year!

District 6 Commander Curtis Talley had the honor of administering the officer obligation, and our newly elected and appointed officers took their oath β€” pledging to faithfully serve the post, uphold the bylaws and rituals of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and surrender all records and property of the organization at the close of their term.

We are grateful for every comrade who stepped up to lead. The work of this post β€” serving veterans, supporting families, and strengthening our community β€” continues because of you.

Congratulations to all incoming officers of William A. Reid Memorial VFW Post 660.
