We are proud to spotlight Will Forester, a member of the Hardin County High School Class of 2022 and graduate of Union University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Finance.

🤝 Favorite Part of College:
Getting involved on campus. I was in various student organizations, including a fraternity. I also worked part-time as a PA Announcer, where I announced home games for Union basketball, baseball, softball, and more.

🎯 Advice for Incoming Freshmen:
Take every opportunity to try new things and meet new people. The people you meet in college will likely become your lifelong friends.

💭 One Thing I Wish I Knew:
Studying in college is way different than studying in high school. Learning what study methods work best for you early on will help you succeed throughout your college career.

📝 What Helped Me Succeed:
Making use of professors’ office hours. Even if they seem intimidating, they’re there to help you understand, and they will notice the effort you put in.

🎓 Ready for fall classes at Jackson State? Join us for July Jumpstart!

Whether you’re a current student or an accepted incoming freshman, July Jumpstart is a great opportunity to get prepared before the semester begins. Stop by the Jackson State Savannah Center anytime between 2:00–4:00 PM on Thursday, July 30.

At this come-and-go event, you can:
✔ Check your financial aid status
✔ Review and print your class schedule
✔ Locate your classrooms before the first day
✔ Learn how to navigate JWeb, eLearn, and your college email
✔ Complete Title IV requirements and review/order textbooks
✔ Get your student ID and parking pass
✔ Set up campus Wi-Fi on your laptop

Bring your laptop if possible to make the most of your visit. Snacks and refreshments will be provided!

We encourage all current students and accepted freshmen to attend and start the semester feeling confident and prepared. Please share this flyer with any students who may benefit from attending. 📚✨

We are proud to spotlight Jhanvi Patel, a member of the Hardin County High School Class of 2022 and graduate of Union University.

Gaining ICU experience for two years before returning to school to pursue a CRNA program!

Being surrounded by my best friends all the time and having them there to constantly encourage me!

Try to get to know your professors on a personal level!

📚 Study Tip:
Study groups and waking up early before exams to review!

🏆 Biggest Accomplishment:
Being able to serve in multiple leadership roles while maintaining a strong GPA, while also making time for my personal life!

College is about more than earning a degree - it’s about growing as a person, building relationships, and discovering what you're capable of achieving. We are so proud of Jhanvi and cannot wait to see all she accomplishes in the nursing field!
