SLCM would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, hosted, and donated to make last night’s Cruise for a Cause truly special. The evening was incredible — filled with meaningful moments for children, families, and our dedicated SLCM volunteers.

We are deeply grateful to the Original Soo Locks Boat Tours for sponsoring, hosting, and creating such a memorable experience.

A big thank you to Walmart for the generous donation of chips, fruit snacks, and water to keep hungry stomachs happy.

Shout‑out to Zak & Mac's-Sault Ste Marie for the delicious ice cream and all the fixings (YUM!).

And a very special thank‑you to Norris Seward and Traci Seward for their unwavering support, kindness, and commitment to our mission.

Please enjoy the photos and videos and feel free to ad yours from the evening as well! 🚢⚓️

What. a. weekend!! ☀️⚓️🛟
We had such a great weekend in the beautiful sunshine meeting everyone at Engineer's Day and Little Sailor's Day! SLCM loves this community and we enjoyed chatting with families, playing games and handing out tattoos to the kids (and some adults too!). A big thank you to those who stopped by to tour the museum space
including Parker Fairbairn. We love sharing the progress and the future of the museum!
Make sure to follow SLCM to keep up to date on more exciting things coming!

🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

The Soo Locks Children’s Museum needs our community’s voice right now! Crucial state funding decisions are being made, and we need to show our state leaders how much this museum means to our families, schools, and visitors across the Eastern Upper Peninsula and beyond.

Please take 2 minutes today to email or call the key decision-makers in Lansing. Ask them to support LDSI #155 for the Soo Locks Children's Museum!

Here is who you need to contact:

👤 Speaker of the House, Matt Hall 📧 Email: [email protected] 📞 Phone: (517) 373-1784

👤 Senate Majority Leader, Winnie Brinks 📧 Email: [email protected] 📞 Phone: (517) 373-1801 (or toll-free: 1-855-347-8029)

What to say: "As a staunch supporter of the Soo Locks Children's Museum, I am contacting you to ask for your support of LDSI #155 in the upcoming state budget.

This funding is critical to bringing a hands-on, interactive learning environment to the underserved children and families of our region. Beyond its educational impact, the museum will significantly benefit our local economy and boost regional tourism. We are incredibly grateful for Representative Fairbairn’s strong advocacy for this project within his district, and we hope you will join him in supporting this vital community asset. Thank you!"

Every single email and phone call makes a massive difference. Let's make our voices heard! 🏛️✨
