Country Spinners & Bridge Shuttlers

Country Spinners & Bridge Shuttlers A local fiber guild of the Michigan Eastern Upper Peninsula supporting all things fiber, we love to learn new things & make new friends. We welcome you all.

Our Guild has been around since 1988 and has a rich history. Since May 1999 we have been hosting the annual Spring Fiber Fling at Northwoods Christian Camp in Pickford MI . We have had many teachers bring us new and exciting classes and vendors present so we can shop. We often have an educational booth on Waters street during Rendezvous in the Sault in July. Beginning in 1993 we attend the Chippew

a County Fair so that the community can ask, see, feel, and try spinning & weaving etc. Find us in the quonset hut all week with the other local vendors and booths. Then we are off to The Stalwart Fair for 1 day of spinning in their 4-H building. Finally we have an art show at The Alberta House in November. Our guild has monthly meetings that rotate locations to educate ourselves, develop friendships and show our current projects. We also have an active Facebook group (Country Spinners & Bridge Shuttlers) comprised of guild and non guild members. If you are a fiber enthusiast & or you want to learn a new skill, join us.

Spring Fiber Fling 2026 is in the books and was so fun! Nothing is more satisfying than learning new fiber arts and skills with like minded people. Thank you to everyone that helped, cooked, taught, vended, attended, shopped and shared! The soul is content and the body is tired but the mind is full of new things to try on our own. Put May 14,15 & 16 2027 on your calendars and join us next year.

Vendor Spotlight for Spring Fiber Fling
May 16, 17 & 18

Meet Lisa Layman with her hand dyed wool topp: I learned to knit in 4H when I was 9, often knitting by flashlight under my covers when I was supposed to be sleeping! Now I love all forms of fiber arts but I mostly knit, crochet, and spin. During Covid I started dyeing wool and totally got hooked on the different dyeing methods, colors, and wool breeds. Another fiber venture to love….
