Remember the cat found west of town, no chip, but was neutered with the ear clipped? At one time he must have had a caregiver as he is super friendly. Zoom in on the picture and notice all that fur. It was matted so badly it had started causing sores from the pulling. Being alone outside with no care is bad for long haired cats for sure. Zeus went to our veterinary friends at Mazomanie Animal Hospital, got shaved an antibiotic injection, and had to have felt so much better. His hair has grown back beautifully and his new human brushes him. The adopter is like a little mother Henn, doting on him and always concerned he’s caring for him properly. It’s heartwarming, especially since he’s a man❤️❤️

Donations were dropped off the other day, and in them was a crinkle bag for cats. The kittens started playing with it the moment I put it on the floor🐱🐱

Shelter entry placement is important! 🎯

When making shelters from styrofoam boxes or totes, aim to place the opening as far to the side (left or right, your choice) as possible without compromising the side wall of the container. Also, place the opening high up, as close to the lid as possible. You want the cat to step down into the straw that you'll eventually place inside. Placing the hole high also prevents puddling rain and accumulating snow from entering the shelter and soaking the straw. Remember, you're going to fill that shelter approximately 2/3 full with loose straw. The cat should step DOWN into it, not have to make his way through it. Also, when kitty exits, he will not drag the straw out of the shelter if the hole is placed higher.

Remember to keep the entry hole small. It only needs to be 5-6" wide, or the width of kitty's whiskers. A smaller door discourages other animals (like raccoons) from entering and keeps heat inside.

👏👏👏 A temporary foster home has been found for Rogue but we need to find a forever permanent home for this sweet little senior cat❤️❤️❤️❤️

Rogue is in need of a foster or an adoptive family, soon. She is 12 years old and a tiny little lady. Look at that marking on her nose❤️
Rogue’s owner is heartbroken about having to make this very painful decision😢😢😢
Rogue loves dogs and will like cats once she knows they won’t hurt her. Her siblings beat her up when she was tiny. She may have been the runt, but not sure.
Rogue is a very sweet cat, and will not scratch your furniture, so a scratching post is probably used (or a cat tree). Owner says she still gets the zoomies once in awhile. $100.00 adoption fee and a short application fee if you are interested in adopting her.
If you would like to foster, of course there is no fee. You just need to provide a safe, loving home, and this will probably be stressful for a 12 year old cat😢

🐾🐾The kitties (and me) are really enjoying this beautiful autumn weather. Lucky and Marshy all snuggled up out in catio. Lucky, on the left, and Marshy are semi-feral so no one will adopt them. I had a guy a few years ago want a particular cat like these. He said he didn’t care, he just wanted a companion. If someone already has a cat that’s friendly a “shy cat” could be part of a family although they would never be a cat. These two are very sweet❤️

We had another very profitable autumn yard sale this year. I have so many people to thank for making it possible. First of all I thank my volunteers, as Oscar and I definitely cannot do it anymore without a lot of help. Cassie Louis and her boys helped again this year. Those kids are workers for sure!! Mom Cassie is too! Another lady I had never met, Dana, helped. She was strong and fast! That was a plus.
Kathy couldn’t make it for setting up, and I worried about that as she is our yard sale guru. Karen is our cashier (I get too stressed out doing that) Jan talked with people and promoted the four kittens we had here, and helped price items.
Last but not least, for sure we could have not done it without Oscar, the guy who puts up with all the craziness
of rescue🙀👏🐾

PS. How could I have forgotten the donors for all the donations?? Without all these wonderful items to sell there would not be a sale!!!. Thank you to all that brought items to sell, cat food and litter as well as monetary donations. We have such a wide variety of items for each sale, which makes it very
interesting. Hopefully we will do it again in the spring. 🗜️🔌🪓🪜👕✂️📚🛍️@
