Great News! The VFW Post was one of 104 posts nationwide to receive a $250 grant to help support the Day of Service event. The volunteers collectively put in 40 service hours. A big thanks to our vets from the Eagles Nest and the grant sponsors Humana, CenterWell and USAA.

VFW Day of Service a success. Thanks to area vets, supporters, and help from the Eagles Nest. Area DNR boat landing and public spaces were cleaned up netting a truckload of trash in advance of opening fishing season in central Minnesota.

Coming Soon! Spring 2025
Great News! American Legion Post 67 was awarded a grant of $7000 from the Central MN Arts Council to add to the $2700 received from community donations for the mural project Two murals will be placed on the southeast walls of the post home to the American Legion Post 67 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2853 in Sauk Centre.

The “Soaring Eagle” mural design has received approval by the membership. The second mural design upon approval will be to the left of the “Soaring Eagle.” Weather permitting, both murals will be painted in early 2025. Thanks to all that have supported this project.
A special thanks to Pam Borgmann with the Sauk Centre Visitors Bureau for writing the grant and local artist Roger Reinardy for providing the mural rendition.

Red Cross Blood Drive on October 17th a success when measured by a pint. The fourth year the post teamed up with the Knights of Columbus for the annual event. Seventy-three pints donated this year. Thanks donors, volunteers, and the River of Life for providing their space to make it happen. Quartermaster Schloegl, Post 2853
