At The Ranch — Teammates for Life, we did something about it.

Our Peer Support Specialist certification program trains residents to become credentialed mental health peer supporters — so the healing they experience here becomes a skill they carry for life. Men and women who’ve faced TBI, PTSD, and the weight of a career in the spotlight learn to recognize those same struggles in others, and show up for them the way nobody showed up for them.

Because the best teachers aren’t always in a classroom. Sometimes they’re the teammate who’s already been through it.

At the 2025 Miracles Gala, we were honored to have .rust take the panel and she brought everything.

Reagan Rust is a former D1 and pro hockey player who made history as Mississippi’s first NCAA Division I women’s hockey player, went on to play professionally around the world, won the Beanpot at Boston University, and coached at the D1 level.

She’s also lived with depression and anxiety since she was 14 years old.

For years, she carried that in silence the way so many athletes do. The way so many of the people we serve at The Ranch have.

But Reagan chose a different path: radical honesty. She built the Female Athletes Society to give other athletes the mental health resources she wished she had. She speaks, she shows up, and she refuses to let stigma win.

Hearing her on that panel reminded us exactly why we do this work.

To everyone who has ever felt like the strongest version of themselves on the outside while fighting something invisible on the inside, you are not alone. The Ranch is here. And miracles still happen. 🏒
