Our June Blue Kats Men's Club meeting will feature a presentation from Anne and James Cirulli of the Friends of Mountain View Cemetery in Saugerties.

Many local residents have noticed the renewed attention being given to Mountain View Cemetery, one of Saugerties' most historic landmarks. Anne and James have been leading a volunteer effort to preserve and restore the cemetery, organize community cleanups, raise funds for maintenance, and help ensure that the stories of those buried there are not forgotten. The cemetery is the final resting place of generations of local families and many veterans who helped shape our community. (The Overlook)

Join us to learn about the history of Mountain View Cemetery, the challenges facing historic cemeteries today, and how local volunteers are working together to preserve an important piece of Saugerties history.

One of the highlights of our recent Blue Kats Men's Club meeting was welcoming representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of Saugerties.

We heard from Lauren about the important work the club does for local youth, and from Isabella, who shared her personal experiences as a member. Isabella was recently recognized as Youth of the Year, and it was easy to understand why. Her passion, leadership, and commitment to encouraging younger club members left a strong impression on everyone in the room.

There is something powerful about hearing directly from the people whose lives are being impacted. Isabella's story reminded us that organizations like the Boys & Girls Club do far more than provide activities. They help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover their potential.

The Blue Kats are proud to support the Boys & Girls Club of Saugerties and were pleased to make a donation to help continue their important work in our community.

Thank you to Lauren and Isabella for spending the evening with us and sharing your stories. You gave us all a better understanding of the difference the Boys & Girls Club makes every day.

The Blue Kats Men’s Club gathers again tonight, May 28, at 6:30 PM at the American Legion Hall in the Village of Saugerties.

Good food. Good laughs. Good stories. Good people.

We’ll share a meal, catch up with neighbors, solve a few of the world’s problems, and continue finding ways to help our community right here in Saugerties.

Whether you’re newly retired, new to town, longtime local, or just looking to meet a solid group of guys, pull up a chair and join us.

All men welcome. Every age. No pressure. Just community.

The entrance to Saugerties is getting a little more patriotic. 🇺🇸

Members of the Blue Kats Men’s Club spent the day at The Rock Cut, decorating the iconic “Welcome to Saugerties” area with red, white, and blue lights as we gear up to celebrate the Fourth of July.

What starts as a few strings of lights becomes another reminder of what local community spirit looks like: neighbors showing up, untangling cords, laughing together, and doing something simple to make Saugerties feel special.

Small touches matter. They help create hometown pride and remind both residents and visitors that this community cares.

Happy early Fourth of July, Saugerties. 🇺🇸

The Blue Kats Men’s Group is proud to welcome special guests from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ulster County to our monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 PM.

Since 1946, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ulster County have been helping young people in Kingston, Saugerties, and throughout our community by providing safe spaces, mentoring, educational support, recreation, arts programs, and opportunities that help kids build brighter futures. Their mission is simple but powerful: inspire and enable all youth to lead better lives. (BGC Ulster County)

We are looking forward to hearing more about the important work they do for local families and youth across Ulster County.

As always, the evening includes fellowship, dinner, and community conversation.

Thursday evening we enjoyed a well attended dinner meeting. Our speakers were Carol Daley and Nancy Clarke who spoke of the Ulster Community College Foundation. Over 300 scholarships have been awarded with 50 new 8th grade students selected each year. Many questions were asked. The photo included both Carol and Nancy receiving the coveted Blue Kats Mug from executive members Mike and Phil.
