Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residency

Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residency Ox-Bow’s campus encompasses 115-acres of pristine natural forests, dunes, a lagoon, and historic buildings located in Saugatuck, MI.

OX-BOW SCHOOL OF ART & ARTISTS’ RESIDENCY was established in 1910 and continues its mission of connecting artists to a network of creative resources, people, and ideas; an energizing natural environment; and a rich artistic history and vital future. Ox-Bow has been in operation for over 100 years and continues to provide an immersive environment for artists to explore traditional and contemporary

modes of art-making. Ox-Bow provides a singular experience that respects historical techniques while bending genres into new formats, in an environment outside of the everyday, where creativity is paramount.

On view at Ox-Bow House through July 5.

This exhibition highlights the long career of Patricia “Pat” Dewey, spanning nearly nine decades, from early academic study through Impressionism and into abstraction, including her final work made in collaboration with her son, Brent. Closely connected to the Ox-Bow community, where she was an active participant and supporter, her work reflects a lifelong engagement with painting and a sensitivity to space, form, and the experiences that shape a practice.

Meet the 2026 Ox-Bow Summer Fellows

Each year, Ox-Bow welcomes a small cohort of artists into a fully immersive, 13-week residency rooted in time, place, and creative exchange.

Drawn from leading art schools across the country, these fellows are selected through a competitive process and come together on Ox-Bow’s historic campus in Saugatuck, Michigan. Living and working side by side, they engage across disciplines, share ideas, and take part in the rhythms of daily campus life.

With 24-hour access to studios, visiting artists, and opportunities to exhibit, as well as shared work across the organization, fellows find a rhythm that supports both their work and the community.

This summer’s fellows each bring distinct perspectives and practices into this shared experience, and we’re excited to introduce them to you.

Each July, the Field of Vision summer benefit brings the Ox-Bow community together on the meadow to celebrate the artists, ideas, and people who sustain Ox-Bow’s creative legacy.

This year, we are proud to honor two visionary individuals whose work and support have helped shape and strengthen our mission, and we’re excited to share more about them:

Michelle Grabner, Art and Environment Honoree

Michelle Grabner is an artist, writer, curator, and educator. Her distinguished, three-decade-long career is marked by a unique integration of studio practice, critical writing, curatorial innovation, and pedagogical leadership. Ox-Bow is proud to honor her for these significant contributions to the art world and for her deep, three-decade connection to the Ox-Bow community, where she has served as teaching faculty, a program committee member, and a visiting artist.

Todd Warnock, Community Honoree

Ox-Bow is proud to honor Todd Warnock at Field of Vision in recognition of his enduring support of artists, educators, and communities, and for a leadership legacy that is quite literally built into the fabric of Ox-Bow. As Board Chair from 2004-2011, Todd led the organization through a key period of growth that included completing its first major capital campaign, expanding and winterizing the Inn, adding new cabins and the Metternich, and establishing the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area.

Join us on Saturday, July 11 for an unforgettable evening in support of Ox-Bow. As our signature summer fundraiser, every ticket directly supports our programs, scholarships, and the artists who make this community thrive.

Reserve your spot at the link in our bio. Early Bird tickets are available until June 1!
