God has given us a vision to create a community to help broken people find freedom. We believe success will come by building these men and women in their identity in Christ and breaking them free from the lies of the enemy. Jennifer Jernigan was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. She came to Mobile to attend the Home of Grace for Women four years ago and felt the Lord calling her to move to Mobile permanently. Jennifer has plans to go back to college and finish up her Psychology degree and become a Certified Counselor. Having struggled with an addiction for over ten years, she knows the Lord has called her to help others find freedom from the chains and bo***ge of addiction. She feels drugs and alcohol are merely a symptom of deep-rooted issues that the Lord wants to heal in others, just as He has her. Having an inside view and personal experience with addictions the Lord has equipped her with compassion and insight to help aid others on their own journey to freedom. In Matthew 28:19 the Lord commands to “Go and make disciples.” Not only is she called to help others with various addictions and abuse but has a desire to build and raise up disciples for the Lord and further His Kingdom. She believes God has brought Heath and hers vision together to establish community, freedom and identity in Christ. Heath Jernigan was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. At an early age he had a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit and surrendered his life and has been serving the Lord for the past 23 years. Growing up in a broken home has created a passion and desire within him to see community and family established as God has modeled in Acts chapter 2. Heath attended the University of Mobile studying Marketplace ministry to help further his ability to communicate the Gospel. Journey’s Edge was established in 2017 to be a bridge between the world and Christ and to create a safe place where anyone can come and find freedom, identity and purpose for their life. Heath feels one of his life’s missions is to empower people and propel them into their God given purpose and identity. Heath and Jennifer share the same heart and value to see broken hearts restored and people walking in the true freedom that Christ has already won.
