There's been some sketchy kitten requests lately from people who are anonymous not wanting any paperwork, etc.
We have protocols and standards.
All shelters, including us, have a application process which includes adoption fee, vet check, home check, including meet and greet all pets and people living there to ensure the family and pet are safe, loved, able to be cared for long term.
Cats live up to 25 years. If anything happens they're returned to us. We don't save lives, spending thousands of dollars per litter, just to hand them over.
In Florida, the minimum age to adopt is 3 months old because by law they must be fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. No reputable shelter will adopt out babies.
We certainly are not handing out babies.
This prevents labs inhumanely testing.
This prevents using them as bait.
This prevents them being fed to snakes.
This prevents them from being safe, loved, cared for inside to just tossed outside to fend for themselves subject to predators.
This prevents them from being starved and not cared for properly.
