SACRED ELEMENTS EXHIBITION APPLICATIONS OPEN NOW!

The Sacred Elements Exhibition Space is a partnership between the Satanta Area Arts Council and Sacred Grounds Coffee & Nutrition in Satanta, Kansas. Created to showcase artists from Southwest Kansas and provide greater access to the arts in a rural region, the gallery honors the memory of local artist, photographer, educator, and arts advocate Danelle Groth Schiffelbein.

Artists interested in exhibiting must submit an application and images of their work for review. Exhibitions typically remain on display for two to three months, with priority given to artists from Southwest Kansas. Selected artists are responsible for delivering and retrieving their work, providing information for labels, and attending any exhibition receptions that may be held. Artwork may be offered for sale, with artists setting their own prices; a 30% commission is retained and shared by the Arts Council and Sacred Grounds. The exhibition committee handles installation, labeling, sales, and promotion, allowing artists to focus on sharing their work with the community.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

The Satanta Area Arts Council is excited to announce Kids' College 2026: Summer Sculpture Studio, a week-long hands-on art experience for young creators!

Students will explore the world of sculpture while learning about famous artists and creating their own three-dimensional masterpieces. This year's camp will feature visiting artist Kim Brook, who will share her expertise and inspire students to think creatively through art.

From ancient masterpieces to modern public art, campers will discover how sculptors shape the world around us while developing their own artistic skills and imagination.

Save the date!

Art in the Park, hosted by the Satanta Area Arts Council and the Satanta Chamber of Commerce, will take place Friday, August 7 from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Apache Park (500 Arapahoe) in Satanta.

Vendors of all kinds are currently being invited to participate, and booth space is completely free. Join us for an evening of art, creativity, community, and summer fun in the park!

Customers will earn a vote with each coffee purchase during visits to Sacred Grounds Coffee & Nutrition and we’re awarding CASH PRIZES to the top 3 People's Choice winners! 🏆

Entry Fee: $10 per piece (Artwork can be for sale or display only)

Today, Satanta Area Arts Council Board Member, Jan Holland, accepted a check for $2,800 to cover the cost of continuing the arts council’s 35-years-and-counting commitment to bringing the Wichita Children’s Theatre to Southwest Kansas. Hosted at Satanta High School, this program reached over 900 students this month!
