Last evening, Gary and I spent the evening at my mom’s house moving furniture and loading the trailer up with empty boxes. Before we left we were going back and forth about where we wanted to go to dinner. Gary said Rock-A-Fella’s and I said the Field House… so naturally we comprised and went with what I wanted😉

On our way there I read him the post I made about our 1 year engagement, and not two minutes later we saw this BEAUTIFUL rainbow. It was not at all what we were expecting to see, and I honestly don’t think I’ve seen a rainbows start and end. We both said it was my dad saying, “I’m still here! I see everything going on” 🩷

1 year ago we got engaged at the last tour show in honor of my dad. Now we are 76 days away from saying “I Do” 💍

Life has been nothing short of craziness—utter chaos, hard times, good times, and so many moments worth celebrating.

Through it all, I’ve gotten to watch my sister get married, become a fiancée, become an aunt, and soon, I’ll become a wife myself. 🤍

And with becoming a wife, I’ll also officially become a stepmom to three amazing kiddos who have brought the most innocent kind of love and joy into my life—something I so desperately needed. Loving them and watching our family grow has been one of the greatest blessings.

There is so much to be thankful for and so much life happening around us. Our family seems to grow a little more every year, and I know there would be no one prouder to see it all than my dad.

I just wish he were physically here to witness it with us—to see the weddings, the babies, the new chapters, and all the beautiful ways our family continues to grow.

Life keeps moving forward, and there is so much happiness in that. But even in our happiest moments, there will always be that missing piece. A seat we wish was filled. A voice we wish we could hear. A hug we wish we could have just one more time.

Our family will continue to grow, new memories will continue to be made, and life will continue to give us reasons to celebrate. But no matter how much time passes or how much our family changes, there will always be a piece of our hearts that belongs to Dad. ❤️

This was a picture my dad posted on his Facebook. Cold pork chop in hand, at my house right after I bought it doing some work. He loved eating left over pork chops COLD the next day. They had to be cold.

My dad was so particular with his work. In this picture he was putting new electric cover plates around the house. And the screws had to all be facing the same exact way. So naturally, I have to do that now when I put new covers on.

I watched Gary put new ones on in our house and when I saw the screws going different directions, I said, “What is that???” He was SO confused. So now I’ve trained him the way I’ve been trained. All of our cover plates have screws facing the same exact way😅 Sorry hunny, you can thank my dad for my particular ways!!

Another topic of discussion the other day was my dad’s diehard love for Ford. Chevy’s weren’t even “allowed in our driveway” (he was joking… sort of)

He would trade his truck in about every three years because it would have “too many miles”. His last trade in ended up being a Dodge because of how expensive Fords had gotten. He was SICK over it. He almost took it back to the dealership the next day because it wasn’t a Ford. My mom had to talk him out of that one. He ended up loving his Dodge. We still have it. I drive it every now and then and I think he would be pretty impressed with me that I can back it into the driveway with no issue. He ALWAYS backed his truck in, so we back it in too because it just doesn’t look right any other way.

Is anyone else a Ford fanatic like my dad was? Dodge, Chevy, etc.?

Last night my mom, Allyson, Gary, Kip, and I were talking about my dad and we brought up that he ALWAYS had to have a measuring tape with him. There was always one in his truck, on the counter, etc. This man would whip a measuring tape out of nowhere. So when I bought my house, I had to get a picture of him with his measuring tape 🤣 Is any other man like this??

Rest with God, Jim 🪽

All of us here at Corey’s Cruise are praying for the Copenhaver family and all of those who loved him. We know the journey that grief takes you on, and we pray God brings you comfort, peace, and healing. I hope he gets the opportunity to meet my dad up there. He’ll show him the way. 🤍

It was a true honor meeting you.
