Pinecone Central Park

Pinecone Central Park This was a grassroots effort to raise millions of dollars to build the facility many believed was needed in Sartell.
(1)

In 2010 a trio of local community members, Paul Hansen, Gordy Meyer and Greg Neeser addressed the need for more baseball fields by founding the Pinecone Central Park Initiative (Pinecone Central Park Association, PCPA). Construction started on Phase I of the facility in 2011 and baseball began in June 2013. Phase I included four youth baseball fields, a pavilion, maintenance garage and concession

stand with restrooms. Phase II adds batting cages and two intermediate fields. When construction began in 2011, there were 341 registered baseball players in Sartell. In 2017 there were 654 registered baseball players in Sartell. This was truly a case of “Build it and they will come!” Baseball continues to thrive and the need for facilities is as great as ever. Pinecone Central Park generates tens of thousands of visitors to Sartell each summer. It is a source of community pride as the parks were built from the ground up with volunteer help and donations. This project is important to all our users’ programs success and safety. We appreciate the community’s willingness to contribute to local programs such as this and are grateful for the opportunity to make this a reality.

Baseball season is here and St. Cloud Orthopedics Field will be filled with the sights and sounds for all of us that love the game.

While you visit the park, take time to admire the Brent Weber Memorial installed last fall by MC's Lawn & Landscaping LLC.

The engraved bricks continue to be sold for $250 each and the proceeds will be designated towards a capital campaign to enhance the fan seating area. Brent had visions of improvements for Champion Field, now known as St Cloud Orthopedics Field, and the sale of the bricks will help to make these enhancements happen. It will be an honor to recognize what he meant to all of us and to leave a legacy at the ballpark in his name.

To place your brick order please visit https://polarengraving.com/pineconeparkassociation. Please note that each 4”x 8” brick includes up to three lines of an engraved message. Each line is up to a 20-character maximum including spaces.

Sartell lost a pillar in our community when Brent Weber lost his courageous battle with ALS. We are fortunate that he shared his passion for baseball with all of us. For 7 years he led the Sartell Baseball Association through significant field improvement projects, programming expansion and player growth. While serving as President of the Association he led by example serving in many roles from cooking burgers at tournaments, working on the fields and coaching his team.

Thank you to everyone that has already purchased a brick.

For 7 years he led the Sartell Baseball Association through significant field improvement projects, programming expansion and player growth. While serving as President of the Association he led by example serving in many roles from cooking burgers at tournaments, working on the fields and coaching his team. Those who were fortunate enough to have Brent coach one of their children saw firsthand how his knowledge of the game made them better players but also helped them to develop into the young men that they are today.

His dedication to the game of baseball and his leadership skills were crucial in bringing the youth baseball program in Sartell to where it is today. Brent’s impact made a significant difference that will be felt in the Sartell area baseball community for many years to come.
