We hike and bike into remote trails and lakes every day. Each time we find trash, no matter how into the "backcountry" we go. This lake was miles from a maintained road and still had trash. ALWAYS pick up and pack out your trash!!

The weather has been a little cooler over the last 2 weeks and the wildlife has been on the move in the areas we've been cleaning. This guy was only about 45 feet away when he came out of the swamp... he was about waist high and we guessed about 85-90 pounds.

Hiking at the edge of the Paul Bunyan State Forest in north central Minnesota. This is the time of year where our black bears are eating up to 20,000 calories per day to get fat for winter! No matter where you live, keep our forests, beaches and waterways picked up!

When we are doing trail clean ups, we always encourage people to look around and notice the wildlife that is constantly near. These two little velvet bucks were only about 20 yards away and never ran, they finally got bored with us and just stepped deeper into the woods. Keep your eyes open while doing clean ups!

It's not as sharp of an image as I like, but we were happy to see that a chunky momma and a cub were enjoying one of the trails we frequent. We have been wondering about what kind of wildlife strolls by one of our access points, so we put up a camera and found: multiple bears, tons of deer, skunks, fox, bobcat, lots of bunnies, owls, bald eagles and a couple of coyotes!

Hoping that you all have a great weekend and find places on this beautiful planet to explore! Wildlife always seems to find ways to say "hello" when we are doing our clean up work... this guy followed us up and down the beach for about 30 minutes when we were cleaning up the sand! Be safe out there and always be kind to people you meet...

We have been cleaning quite a bit lately! Mostly in bear & deer country, but sometimes in shark pup areas too! Wherever we do clean up work, we obey regulations and stay current on any wildlife & weather warnings. Hoping that your weekend adventures are the best!

It has been a wild, crazy & also sad last 10 weeks. We crossed off a bucket list item on our clean up list, but tragically lost a board member to cancer just after. We have been taking care to stay true to our charter, without ignoring to great contribution that those who helped start this journey have added along the way. Life is only temporary & health is fleeting. Cherish those who have come before us and taught us how to be stewards of the land... celebrate the young & new life that is before us due to those who showed us the way.

The lakes are open finally and that means shoreline clean ups before rushes and pads start to grow! We primarily work non-motorized lakes or waterways that are "hike in" only. There is nothing special about why we pick these areas, it just seems like they stay cleaned up for longer amounts of time and allows us to get to more bodies of water. No matter what kind of beach or waterway you choose, always make sure to pick up your trash and a few extra bits that others may have left behind! We can do this...
