We accomplished a lot in 5 years and while it’s sad to come to an end we are happy to end on a high note.

5 years ago we started this toy drive thinking it would be a one time thing, however when the first year was bigger than we thought it was requested that we do it again and again and again. That momentum grew with each year and our goal continued to be simple, “get more donations and help more people than the previous year.” Each year we crushed that goal. We tried to count our donations but we quickly realized that would be impossible. We also continued to add drop boxes and started with 5 and grew to 41 in our 5th and final year. We knew the actual numbers didn’t matter to us, it was just about trying to help as many people during Christmas as possible. We just wanted to make a difference. In 5 years we helped so many family’s and thousands of kids!!!! You can see the progress we had with each year in the photo of Kinzie and all the donations from each year. We started in our basement, moved to a shed and eventually a gymnasium! Kinzie is in each photo but gets smaller and smaller in order to include all the donations! You can hardly notice her in the 5th photo!

In total we helped all these organizations and families- some multiple times. (It’s possible that I may have forgotten some too!) ♥️ Each child received a minimum of 3 toys/gifts (large, medium and small), but those kids that included only “needs” (such as clothing, shoes, personal care items) on their wish lists we tried to give them some needs as well as those 3 toys - so some kids got more than 3 gifts.

Local Communities that we donated to:
Swanville, Upsala, Little Falls, Long Prairie, Royalton, Sauk Rapids, Sartell, Randall, Pierz, St Cloud, Baxter & Waite Park

♥️ 14 Local Schools
♥️ Approx. 125 Families from The United Way with around to 500+ kids
♥️ Approx. 84 Individual Sponsored Families with around 250+ kids
♥️ Morrison County
♥️ Benton County
♥️ Todd County
♥️ Family Social Services
♥️ Local Hospitals
♥️ The Waters Church
♥️ City of Hope / Place of Hope Church
♥️ The Salvation Army
♥️ Big Brothers Big Sisters
♥️ A Light In The Night
♥️ A Giving Tree
♥️ Sartell Santa’s Helpers
♥️ Hands of Hope
♥️ WIC and Fetal/Maternal Health Public Health Nurses
♥️ Too Much Talent
♥️ TCC Early Headstart

We didn’t wrap all the toys/gifts but we sure wrapped a lot! How many gifts were wrapped and who wrapped them? We started with Kinzie’s Mom, Great Aunt Deb, Grandma Lori and Great Grandma B as our wrappers and that grew to having a wrapping party and then a large team of volunteers! We estimate that we wrapped close to 8,000+ gifts.

These 5 years were simply incredible and to know that it was 9 year old Kinzie that started this is remarkable. One person can truly make a difference and when you surround that one person with so many great people you can really make an impact!!!! Even though this is our final year, the need won’t stop so please continue to look within your communities to identify where there is need. There is always need. People counted on us for 5 years and we are now counting on you to continue what we started. Do as Kinzie’s mission was- Be kind always and spread joy. ♥️ Thank you for all your support.

OUR FIRST MEETING
This was when Kinzie came up with this idea of starting her own toy drive. She was 8 years old. She stayed persistent and convinced her Mom to finally do it. It was the next Christmas that it officially started. ♥️ I guess you could say this was technically our first ”business meeting” and it was held by 8 year old Kinzie and in attendance her brother Reid (6), baby brother Jax (4mo.) and her Mom at Noodles & Company. This impromptu meeting we scheduled after they picked up toys to donate and drove around St. Cloud for an hour trying to find somewhere for them to deliver them. That was when the lightbulb went off and Kinzie started something truly amazing! 😊♥️🎄🍝

This year we were able to give the most donations out that we ever have. With this being the last year of the toy drive we wanted to go out with a bang and we sure did!!!

You might ask, where did all the donations go?? How do you decide??? This year we were able to help so many families throughout Central Minnesota!!! 6 Schools, 3 Counties, 10 Referred Families, 37 Family Applicants from United Way, Local Hospitals, Headstart Program in Little Falls, Family Social Services, many other organizations in Central MN and a partridge in a pear tree…. 😉 Keep in mind this is just what we know about because many of those organizations help to get additional donations out to others in need.

How did we decide this? The first year we started we had no idea what to do so we started by reaching out to local schools and the United Way to help find families in need. As donations continued to come in we reached out to the local counties and local organizations. We did this same thing each year as we watched donations roll in and just slowly began reaching out to more schools, organizations, etc. that people connected us to or that had reached out to us directly. Working with these organizations they help identify, allow them to apply and to then be approved to become recipients. This process ensures that our donations are going to local families that are truly in need. Over the past 5years this process has just evolved on its own, as more people donated and learned about what we do. Like last year we couldn’t see our donations accumulate because they would go into storage trailers until the day we unloaded them. We weren’t sure who or how many people we could help. However, we decided again to give it to God and have faith that people would donate enough to be able to help all the organizations and people that applied/reached out. We had faith and everything worked out yet again. GOD IS GOOD!

We always hope to give to the same groups and organizations that we have in the past years as well as add others to that list if able! It’s because of your donations we were able to do all this!! We can proudly say we never turned anyone away in the past 5 years as long as they were local. Sadly we did get out of state or farther areas of MN that reached out but then directed them to contact United Way in their area or other organizations near them. We even had an island nation from the Caribbean! Oh how we hated to say no to anyone because we just want to help everyone, but realistically we know we can’t. This was Kinzie’s Local Toy Drive and it was important that all donations remained local to the Central MN area as that was where the majority of our donations came from. From the bottoms of our hearts- Thank you for all your support.

God Bless You & Merry Christmas! ♥️🙏🏼

(We have a few more posts coming of how to continue to help others as well as a final farewell! so keep watching!)
