This fall, voters in Monroe County will have an important decision regarding the NG911 (Next Generation 911) system. A one-mill levy will be on the ballot to maintain essential improvements and ongoing operations.
Given that many in our county personally know law enforcement officers, firefighters, or EMTs, it's clear how vital a strong NG911 emergency system is. Our dedicated emergency services teams, including fire departments EMS, and Law enforcement, rely on a high-quality NG911 infrastructure to effectively serve Monroe County residents.
Passing this levy will provide Monroe County residents with the assurance that when they dial 911, their calls will be handled by well-trained dispatchers, and their emergencies will be addressed promptly.
The proposed 1.0 Mill levy will have a minimal cost for homeowners, estimated at just $35.00 per year for every $100,000 of the County Auditor’s appraised value. Over the five-year period of the levy, this averages out to a modest $2.92 per month – a small price to pay for a service that ensures the safety and well-being of all Monroe County residents.
Thank you for considering the importance of this levy for both our emergency services and the safety of our county.
