We worship together at 9:00 a.m. We are the Episcopal Church in Saratoga, Wyoming, the oldest church in our community. Since 1889, St. Barnabas’ Church has stood as a beacon of the love of Christ at the corner of First and Main. Together with the House of Hope, the Agape House, and the Journey Labyrinth and Meditation Garden, the St. Barnabas’ Church corner offers an oasis of spiritual refreshment

in downtown Saratoga. Sunday worship services are at 9:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion or The Lord’s Supper) is our principal Sunday worship service. In the absence of a priest, a lay worship leader conducts Morning Prayer. We also offer services on several Holy Days, including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Christmas. We use the 1979 Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. Our ministries include offering hospitality to cross-country bicycle riders, providing a prayer fence in front of the House of Hope, sponsoring Bikes for Kids, hosting a monthly open mic night called “Hardly Just a Coffee House,” and hosting monthly meals for single adults, especially those who have lost a spouse or partner. Gracious and loving God,

We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the faithful women who have gone before us in The Order of the Daughters of the King®. Thank You for their dedication, their prayers, their acts of service, and their unwavering commitment to spreading the good news of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Their legacy inspires us, and we are humbled to follow in their footsteps.

Lord, grant us the strength and wisdom to carry on the work they began. Help us to live out the vows of prayer, service, and evangelism in our daily lives. May we be bold witnesses, sharing Christ’s love and building up Your Kingdom wherever we go.

Empower us, O God, to honor their memory by remaining steadfast in faith, hope, and love. Guide our hearts and hands as we seek to serve You and others, always relying on Your grace and mercy.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

This is the dedication from Strong Ground. I’m sharing it today to say thank you to so many of you who are leading wholeheartedly in the office, the classroom, on the pitch, in the studio, or in your own community. ❤️

So many of us wake up in the morning feeling overwhelmed by a world where bluster, hubris, and even cruelty are normalized and sold as a form of leadership. Before our feet hit the floor, we’re on our phones witnessing the consequences of misused power and the cost to humanity extracted by leaders who believe they should be served by others rather than being of service to others.

I recognize that choosing courage, discipline, and kindness can feel impossible and increasingly vulnerable in a time when even empathy has been vilified. I understand that fostering care, connection, and belonging in our organizations seems downright subversive.

But I have hope. In my work I get to see people who have not given up on their values and what it means to lead while honoring what it means to be human. They’re listening, staying curious, and creating cultures of accountability. I see leaders who understand that performance and impact increase when people feel seen, heard, and respected. I see people who are willing to do the work necessary to understand themselves and to build connection and trust with others.

Thank you to everyone choosing to brave with your lives, your love, and your work. Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard. Thank you for finding your strong ground and becoming our strong ground. ❤️, BB
