This year, our annual fundraiser will be held on July 12th at the Sahib Shriners, in honor of both the 250th anniversary of American freedom and the French national celebration of Bastille Day.
We invite you to join us for an elegant evening of French cuisine, music, dance, and once again, a fabulous array of silent auction gifts. All proceeds will support the Alliance Française de Sarasota, to include the purchase of much‑needed equipment for our classrooms, helping us continue our mission of promoting French language and culture in our community.
It is especially fitting to highlight the historical connection between the Shriners, the broader Masonic tradition, and France—a connection rooted in shared values of fraternity, enlightenment, and service to humanity. Many prominent French writers, philosophers, and statesmen who helped shape modern France were themselves Freemasons, contributing to a legacy of intellectual curiosity and civic responsibility that continues to inspire.
Founded in 1872 as an extension of Freemasonry in the United States, the Shriners are widely recognized today for their extraordinary commitment to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Here in Sarasota, their charitable efforts directly support families facing severe medical challenges with their children.
And of course—remember the dress code: Bleu, Blanc, Rouge. Let’s celebrate in true French spirit!
