A Life Remembered

Andrew was killed in a tragic automobile accident March 13,2011 that killed 4 students in one vehicle. His LOVE for Soccer prompted us to fund scholarships in his name. He had a heart for the unfortunate:

If anyone ever cared, really cared for someone else it would have to be Andrew E. He was a warm hearted and well liked individual, and these wonderful traits came easily to him because he was such a sociable and amiable person, someone who was always making certain that those around him had whatever they needed. He was dependable, loyal and trustworthy. Andrew was a talkative person who was tactful at all times but typically said what he meant. His friends said he pretty much could talk to anyone about anything. Andrew was born in Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. He was the son of Sam and Stacey Monroe. Andrew was raised in Sarasota, Florida. During his childhood he learned to be reliable and respectful. Andrew was an obedient child who wanted to win the favor of others. He found it easy to show sympathy and to perform kind acts for others. These admirable qualities would become a part of Andrew’s personality throughout his life. Andrew was raised with two siblings. He had two brothers, Eric and Aaron. Andrew and his brothers had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another. Andrew was always enthusiastic about new adventures. Although he had an exacting nature, Andrew was always tactful. One thing Andrew will certainly be remembered for is that, when he got up in the mornings, he was ready and raring to go. As a young boy Andrew was an active child. He took part in Soccer, Boys Scouts and was a member of the RHS JROTC program. In his spare time he liked to hang out. Andrew graduated 25th of 575 in his class of 2010 and he will be remembered for his speed on the field and as an awesome goalkeeper . He was State and Regionally certified to train goalkeepers and he was a soccer referee for both Club and High School Soccer. Andrew was a Freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University for the fall of 2010. He was working on an Athletic Training Degree. Andrew seized every moment, He lived life to the fullest. He soared through the air in a dive as he soared through his short life. He had an infectious Smile that would brighten up the room.”

The Andrew Monroe Memorial Fund distributed 6 scholarships to senior Riverview High Senior soccer athletes Monday and Tuesday evening.
Here is where your money goes to, the higher education assistance for these young adults.

More scholarships to JROTC, track and Sarasota County from Community a foundation fund created.

Held in honor of the late Riverview High senior, the 13th annual Andrew Monroe Memorial Run/Walk helps provide scholarships to Riverview seniors who are soccer players, JROTC Cadets and track athletes.
