OāMalley has been shot at least six times. š” Six pellets are now lodged in his tiny body. Itās hard to even comprehend how many times someone had to aim, pump, and pull the trigger to do this⦠or how many more times they may have tried and missed. The question that wonāt go away: why?
We only discovered it by chance this weekend. I felt small bumps under his skināone on his back leg, another on his chest. They seemed like little scabs, but with a gray-blue tint. When I gently checked them, they felt like BBs. I didnāt want to believe it⦠until a magnet confirmed it. š³
At his vet visit today, X-rays showed the truth: six pellets in totalānot just the two we found. š”
Some are just under the skin, but others are far worseādeep in his chest, near his spine, even in his lower jaw. Removing them could cause more harm than good, so for now, they have to stay.
Who could do this to him? We may never know. š
Despite everything, OāMalley is still here, still fighting, still trusting. He received another injection today to help with the itching from the deep facial wound weāve been treating for a few weeks (pics in comments), and weāll keep doing everything we can to give him the safe, loving life he deserves.
If youād like to help with his care, weāre incredibly grateful for any support. Thank you for standing with OāMalley and our rescue. š¾
