Jerry has spoken. He would like to be a Quality Control Supervisor!

I am trying to put together a large cat tower that we just purchased for him. (We splurged to hopefully wear out some of his energy so he can learn to be a nice kitty. šŸ˜„)

Anyway, when he doesn’t approve of what I’m doing, I get smacked. If he approves, he just stares.

If anyone would like to donate towards Jerry’s little shopping trip, the total was $99.99 plus tax. (Assembled pic in comments)

O’Malley made the transition to his foster-to-adopt home today in Mulberry. It took him less than five minutes (or so) to come out of his shell and demand belly rubs and head scratches. 🄰

O’Malley will have two weeks to settle into his new bedroom and get used to his new mom and dad before meeting their other two cats. They’ll then begin the slow integration process. In about a month, we’ll complete the adoption process if everything is going well. 🄰

O’Malley has been shot at least six times. 😔 Six pellets are now lodged in his tiny body. It’s hard to even comprehend how many times someone had to aim, pump, and pull the trigger to do this… or how many more times they may have tried and missed. The question that won’t go away: why?

We only discovered it by chance this weekend. I felt small bumps under his skin—one on his back leg, another on his chest. They seemed like little scabs, but with a gray-blue tint. When I gently checked them, they felt like BBs. I didn’t want to believe it… until a magnet confirmed it. 😳

At his vet visit today, X-rays showed the truth: six pellets in total—not just the two we found. 😔

Some are just under the skin, but others are far worse—deep in his chest, near his spine, even in his lower jaw. Removing them could cause more harm than good, so for now, they have to stay.

Who could do this to him? We may never know. šŸ’”

Despite everything, O’Malley is still here, still fighting, still trusting. He received another injection today to help with the itching from the deep facial wound we’ve been treating for a few weeks (pics in comments), and we’ll keep doing everything we can to give him the safe, loving life he deserves.

If you’d like to help with his care, we’re incredibly grateful for any support. Thank you for standing with O’Malley and our rescue. 🐾

O’Malley saw Dr. Brodie today for a surgery recheck and belly check.

His facial wound has healed very nicely. The vet has suggested we keep the cone on for a while longer, especially after he goes to his new foster-to-adopt home, so he does not start scratching at it due to stress and potentially open it back up. ļæ¼

The vet estimates that O’Malley is 2-3 years old. (I forgot to ask for an age estimate at his surgery appointment.)

Today’s recheck has been fully funded by Cindy H. Thank you! 🄰

*VET APPOINTMENT ON FRIDAY

Jerry requires a very large dog carrier (not pictured) in order to go to the vet. We have this other one that is nowhere near the size, but it’s bigger than a regular cat carrier. His vet appointment is for a sedated nail trim and dental checkļæ¼. We set this carrier out just to see what would happen. He walked right in it. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

NOW TAKING ā€œBETSā€ on whether he’ll go in nicely on Friday or not. 🤣

I don’t remember what they charged me last time to sedate him. I think it was like $80. ā€œBetsā€ are a $5 donation towards his vet bill. (Nobody wins but Jerry. šŸ˜‰) After donating, place your bet in the comments. I’ll let you know if he behaves or not.
If you’re not able to donate, a ā€œshareā€ will also allow you to place a bet in the comments. 🄰

Proud mama moment! 😁 O’Malley has done such a good job keeping his ā€œconeā€ on so he can heal. 🄰 (He’s only made it a ā€œtutuā€ like three times.)

Here’s O’Malley’s final ā€œBefore and Afterā€ of his facial wound. The last of the scabbing fell off on its own today. Yay! šŸŽ‰ Perfect timing for his vet recheck tomorrow! We’re also going to ask the vet to check his tummy. We’ve noticed over the last few days that he has a soft lump where a belly button would be if he had one. We can’t always feel it though. It depends on how we’re holding him. We would like to rule out a tiny umbilical hernia before sending him off to his foster-to-adopt home.
(Hopefully, it’s just a little fat deposit.)

Thanks again to all of you who have donated towards his vet care, his food, and his litter! 🄰 Once we have the ā€œall clearā€ from the vet, we can make arrangements and pack his suitcase! 🄰

Thank you SO much Wayne & Ginger for your incredibly generous donation to our rescue! 😱

This is likely the largest food donation from a single family at one time, ever! We are SO grateful for your support, and so are the kitties! Tonight, they’ll be dreaming about eating all of this yummy food! šŸ„°ā¤ļø

Thank you Cheryl Schaare for the wet food!

Thank you (anonymous/no gift receipt šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø) for a box of litter! (May have also been Cheryl, but we’re not sure. If it wasn’t, we didn’t want to miss thanking someone. 🄰)

Before & After (so far): O’Malley wants to show you how well his facial wound has healed over the last 12 days! 🄰

His vet recheck is April 2nd. As long as he does not turn his cone into a tutu again, he should be just about fully healed by then, and ready for his Foster-to-Adopt home! šŸ„°šŸ¤ž

(Same cat, just different lighting.)

P.S. O’Malley was such a good boy for his nail trim at home tonight. He also let us hold him like baby (requires extreme trust) as long as we were rubbing his belly or scratching under his chin.ļæ¼ Good boy, O’Malley! 🄰

ā€œFerociousā€ O’Malley is learning to ā€œsitā€ for treats. I attempted ā€œbeg,ā€ but he’s too ā€œon the moveā€ for that just yet.

Please watch all 36 seconds of his cuteness. 🄰

Oh, the attitude! Jerry is annoyed with me tonight. We’ve received three Amazon boxes of food (and treats) this week for Cujo and O’Malley, but apparently, I didn’t ask for wet food for Jerry and he feels that’s very unfair because he only has two cans left. šŸ˜£šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

If anyone would like to send Jerry some wet food, he likes Friskies Pate Salmon Dinner (pink label), which can be found on our Amazon Wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2SHI1ESOGE9Z1?ref_=wl_share

Please save me from being m*rdered in my sleep tonight! 🤣🤣🤣
