By liking this page, you are affirming you have read the following guidelines and agree to its conditions:
Intent-
Our intent is to make connecting with our PTO more convenient. This page allows our parents and our teachers to keep up to date with activities through a medium that is accessed by many. Our hope is that our page will create a sense of community, pride and spirit for our school. Using Real Names-
All users interacting with the Brentwood Elementary School PTO page, by either liking or commenting on posts, must do so by using a Facebook account that clearly identifies them by their real name. When Can I Use Names In a Post?-
You can use names in posts when you wish to acknowledge someone's great work or community contribution. However, please remember to respect the privacy of others. "If you wouldn't say it face to face, don't post it." Raising Issues-
This page is not a forum to raise issues. We will not support interactions that incite or fuel negative sentiments. We ask that you do not use the names of our teaching administration or staff, students or any other members of the community in any issues. Posts that are negative in nature will be removed. Uploading Photos and Other Media-
Photos and/or videos of students or underage persons are not to be posted on this page by users. The administrators of this account will remove any such photos or videos that are posted. Any photo or video posted will be done so only by the administrators of this account and only after approval from parent or guardian. Underage Facebook Users-
Brentwood Elementary School PTO does not endorse children under the age of 13 creating their own Facebook account. We encourage our parents to use supervision to help children view this page. However, under no circumstances may a child contribute a comment on this page. We believe our community's conduct on our page will serve as role modeling for our students as to how to behave in social media outlets. Friending Teachers on Facebook-
It may seem like a great idea at first, but please remember that our teachers operate under a code of conduct that states that they are to maintain a professional relationship with students and parents. Friending your child’s teacher can be a slippery slope; please do not use this page as an opportunity to locate your child’s teacher on Facebook. Developing a friendship with your child’s teacher is natural, but why not keep it professional until your child is no longer in their class? Moderation and Blocklisting-
Brentwood Elementary School PTO reserves the right to set the strength level of the Facebook profanity filter (to strong) and to add additional words and names to the page’s blocklist. Actions Resulting from any Breaches of the Code of Conduct-
Brentwood Elementary School PTO reserves the right to ban any user from interacting with its page for breaches of the Code of Conduct.
