Our playwrights bring the theatre to life, but our Board Members are responsible for setting the stage! Everyone on our board works tirelessly to deliver innovative theatre works to our audiences while providing a nurturing environment for our artists. 🎭
Donna Defant, President, began her theatre journey at an early age in Massachusetts, where she gained experience on stage, television, and radio. After moving to Florida 36 years ago, she continued to grow her passion for the performing arts, taking on roles as an actress, director, costume designer, stage manager, producer, and more.
She also spent 32 years as a Certified Financial Planner before retiring from the financial industry to devote more of her time to the theatre arts. She has held leadership positions with several local theatre organizations, including serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Sarasota Players.
Today, Donna continues to be an active and dedicated member of the Suncoast theatre community. We’re grateful to have her experience, passion, and leadership helping guide our theatre! 💜
