This is what GCS’s Reach and Rescue mission looks like: essential food and water supplies reaching communities, and taking time to stand with people personally.
The work takes place under the shadow of repeated air-raid alerts. Sirens can sound again and again, sometimes for much of the day. Plans change, movement pauses, and teams must keep reassessing what is safe. For families, that uncertainty becomes part of daily life.
GCS is responding with practical humanitarian aid, while also sharing the Gospel, offering prayer and encouragement, and speaking of the hope found in Jesus. We want people to know they are not forgotten, and that the love of Christ reaches into immediate need and deep personal loss.
As of 7 October, the latest figures for the first eight months of this year indicate that 15,280 civilians were killed or injured. This week, civilians have again been killed and injured in strikes, including children. Every number represents a person and a family living with the consequences of war.
Please pray for those who are grieving, injured or displaced, and for protection, wisdom and strength for the GCS team. Pray that the aid will reach those who need it, and that the Gospel will bring hope to the people we meet.
Help GCS continue this work.
