🚨CALL TO ACTION🚨:

Want to help get young people civically engaged?

Are you a Sarasota County High School Student? Parent? Educator? Or Club Sponsor? Then we need your help!

Sarasota Youth Association is organizing a Non-partisan High School voter registration drive. We are currently collecting interest forms from High School students interested in registering their peers to vote, and who will help ensure that they are civically engaged.

In collaboration and with the Support of: Youth Action Fund, People Power Florida, Sarasota Students for Justice, and yourself - we are aiming to organize a voter registration drive on every Sarasota High School Campus.

Participants will be provided with all materials, resources, and training to ensure that all voter registrations are properly collected and handled. This is an amazing educational opportunity for students to get involved in the civic process, and ensure their peers get the chance to exercise one of their most important civic duties - voting.

Our goal is to get as many High School students registered to vote in Sarasota County, regardless of party affiliation or beliefs. Young people are the future, and we believe it's imperative they use their voice through their vote at all levels of government.

Once you sign up we will reach out and share further details regarding training and dates!

We're bringing voter accessibility to Sarasota County, but we need your help! Consider making a contribution here: https://donorbox.org/sarasota-youth-association

We have a fundraising goal of $1,000 to be able to provide transportation to and from polling locations, at no cost to voters, during early voting and election day for the August & November elections.

Here's how the money will be spent:

$500: Will go towards setting up a "Hub" and geofencing Sarasota county so that voters can request a ride through an app, website, or phone number and drivers can locate voters to pick up through the app

The other $500 will be spent on: Voter outreach, sending messages to voters (Primary target of 18-25 year old's) to make sure they know this resource is available. It will also be used for advertising, presentations, and other materials so that members of our community and those who do not drive or follow us also know it is available.

Here are some graphics we shared on our Instagram page .ya

We can do it, but we need your help. You can help us by sharing this post with others, or by making a contribution. No contribution is too small or left unappreciated, and will go towards making voting accessible in Sarasota County.

Hello! We are the Sarasota Youth Association, a local SRQ based youth advocacy organization. We are the first county branch of Florida Youth Association (FYA).

We are dedicated to facilitating a platform to outreach to voters and educate them in a Non-Partisan manner. Our members come from all political backgrounds and we encourage disagreement. We hope to help people register themselves to vote, get them out to vote, and educated on all the candidates / their beliefs. We also have a large list of plans of other community events we want to organize such as but are not limited to Clothing Drives, Toy Drives, Food Drives, School Material Drives [Teachers & Students], etc.

Any change and progress comes about through deliberation and exposure to new ideas, it is our core belief that "Social Change Begins with Conversation".

Follow us along as we expand our social media platform to Facebook and stay up to date on local issues and events for young people and community members at large!
