HOT TOPIC 🔥 the importance of maintaining parental bonds 👩‍👧

We had a great parenting class on Saturday January 7th 2023 and the first one for the new year!

Children require routine yes, but consistency and frequency of exchange as well to help maintain parental bonds.

Unless there is abusive of some kind, it is invaluable for children to maintain contact with both parents.

Co-parenting doesn't have to fit in a 📦

What works for one family, might not be the best option for yours. Joint holidays and birthdays work for you and your family? Do that. Monthly family dinners to catch up and spend quality time with your kids? Do that. Do what is in the best interest of your child(ren). Raise them with intention, demonstrate how to work through a tough situation and still take the high road and make it work, show your kids that they are important and matter, that you are the adult and will face the uncomfortable challenges to do what is best for THEM.

🎓 We have new Parent and Stabilization Course Graduates today!
Last night we had a wonderful class of parents who passed with flying colors. A couple of common themes that came up in class were:

1. Making sure the children were the main priority
2. Being the adult
3. GRIEF and how to process that

1. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 In this class it is all about your children. We dive into the complexities and differences kids and their various age groups have as every day children and then add on the divorce/separation and what they may go through and how to be aware so you can help support them and help them navigate through this process.

2. 👩🏼👨‍🦱 As the adults, you have the capacity to control your emotions and make decisions for your family, this means even tough decisions. When times get tough or uncomfortable, remember to take the high road and BE THE ADULT. After all, your children did not ask for this and it is your job to manage and navigate your own emotions calmly and be able to help assist them with theirs.

3. 😭😡😌 GRIEF everyone experiences this differently, each experience is unique and we often associate this with death; but in divorce and separation we are grieving the loss of a partner, 2 parent household, how things used to be, etc. It is important that you go through the process to get through the difficult experience. Remember the sad and hurt do not last forever, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
