The Garbage-Men is a band from Sarasota, FL who since 2010 have been encouraging recycling and giving back by playing music on instruments that they make themselves from garbage and recycled materials. This unique band will be playing at Sunflower Discount Market on Sunday, October 15th, from 5pm-7pm in support of Transition Sarasota’s Eat Local Week. (200 N. Lime Ave, Sarasota, FL)

Sunflower Discount Market offers food at discount due to overproduction, packaging changes, short date codes, or dented packaging.

A. Led by Rebecca Brey, this 501 c3 non-profit’s mission is to “develop community-driven solutions for our local food system.”

Q. What’s featured this year in this cool week-long event?

A. Kicking off Monday March 15th is “Innovative Ways to Grow Active In Your Food System”
Tuesday- an edible gardening series, a virtual tour of Manatee Square Community Gardens....& so MUCH MORE all week!
