ANCA's 2026 Annual Meeting is THIS FRIDAY! We hope you'll join us in Watertown, NY to celebrate the past year’s accomplishments, regional collaborations, and our new tagline, "A North Country for All."

We are thrilled to gather at Emmanuel Congregational Church — a community-centered organization whose service work exemplifies our vision for a North Country economy that works for all.

ANCA was happy to help ECC make energy-efficiency improvements that will help them meet the needs of the community for years to come. We look forward to hearing from Emmanuel about their energy upgrades and community programs, and from the ANCA team about our work building shared prosperity across the Adirondack North Country.

We hope to see you in Watertown on Friday. It's not to late to sign up!

ANCA’s new tagline — A North Country for All — is at the very heart of our work.

🌟 We envision a region of small communities where homes and businesses are affordable, safe and comfortable. Where a robust local food system nourishes every resident. Where small businesses provide employment, amenities and necessities that are accessible to everyone. Through improved access to resources and opportunities, we empower individuals and communities in a regional economy that truly works for — and welcomes — all.

There are countless examples of our work bringing this vision to life, alongside community leaders, businesses, farmers, and regional partners — meaningful examples of how your membership makes a real difference in communities across northern New York.

🌟 Will you be a part of the ANCA member community that is building a North Country for All?

"To be able to come around people who all look like me, people of color, and they're all enjoying this, and I'm enjoying it with them, and we're all just looking at the birds.

"Not only are we all enjoying this activity together, but we're all enjoying this activity with this shared experience of being a person of color in America."

Big things are happening for this small business!

Last month, ANCA joined community members, economic development partners from across New York State, family, and friends in Moira, N.Y., to celebrate Martin’s Pretzel Bakery and fourth-generation owner Josiah Martin, recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2026 National Small Business Manufacturer of the Year Award.

The company's success reflects Josiah’s vision, hard work, and resilience. After taking over the family business in 2019, he relocated the bakery to Moira in 2020. A fire destroyed the facility just months after its opening. Discouraged but determined, Josiah and his team rebuilt and reopened the bakery in 2021. From there, Martin’s has continued to adapt and grow as a business leader in our region.

We were honored to tour the shop and be part of this special celebration with so many supportive regional partners. Congratulations to Josiah and the entire Martin’s Handmade Pretzels team! We look forward to watching this unique local business continue to innovate and grow for years to come.
