Keep Saraland Beautiful

Keep Saraland Beautiful is a group of citizens who work together to help keep our city clean. Guests are welcome if you have a concern for our Saraland area!!

Join us on the second Thursday of the month at noon at the Saraland Chamber of Commerce. We are now meeting EVERY OTHER MONTH. Dates for the remainder of 2022: July 14, September 8, and November 10.

Today Keep Saraland Beautiful members and Saraland Lions Club members toured Ransom Recycling on Craft Highway in Chickasaw. Ralph, the Director of Development, told us their task is to clean the environment and recycle people. And when we sat down with the employees to eat the lunch we brought, they said the same. We each spoke with men and women who turned away from addiction and are rebuilding their lives. Working an honest job, learning how to deal with their issues, and even getting their own place and being reunited with their kids. They credit God and Ransom's program for where they are now. We couldn't be prouder to partner with this organization. Any business who wishes to employ their folks can give Ralph a call.

Big thanks to Juanita Ard Chandler and Mildred Blass who represented us at Tourism Day at the I-10 Grand Bay Welcome Center on May 21. They passed out our Saraland Elementary bookmarks aa well as ADEM's rest area passports. We appreciate the ladies from Keep Mobile Beautiful who partnered with us and Denise Taylor from Keep Alabama Beautiful who extended the invitation.

Keep Saraland Beautiful is so proud of our Saraland Elementary School 2026 Bookmark Contest Winners! On May 14, they were honored at our City Council meeting. Mr. Rob McLean and Mr. Ron Mitchell represented KSB and Mrs. Hailey Lambert, our SES teacher sponsor, helped as well. Thank you to the parents and family members who celebrated with us. And thank you to our Mayor and Council who graciously welcomed our students for the recognition they deserve. We are very appreciative to Saraland Elementary AND Mrs. Lambert for partnering with us on school contests for 17 years now. Go Spartans!

Congratulations to Drew and Rylee Tranchina for winning the “Yard of the Month” for May. Their beautiful and well manicured lawn at 6775 TM Brett Blvd boasts healthy Bermuda grass and pots of vibrant flowering hydrangeas on the front porch. Their flower beds are full of petunias, gardenias, roses and other summer favorites. “Keep Saraland Beautiful” is proud to present this award to this deserving family for their effort in supporting our lovely community. Keep Saraland Beautiful is proud to award the “Yard of the Month” for April to Brenda McEachern of 959 Robert Williams Dr. Her passion for saving many of her mother’s plants gives this yard a varied and rewarding scene of memories, love and beauty. The beautiful lavender blooms on the climbing clematis, the opulence of the pink knockout roses along with amaryllis and Kimberly ferns set a lasting impression of a lovely spring pallet. Rob McLean represented Keep Saraland Beautiful at the annual Keep America Beautiful Summit held this weekend in New Orleans. He got to visit with people from all over the nation, but was especially happy to meet folks from the Alabama affiliates. Looking forward to hearing from him at our next meeting. Join us on March 12 at noon when we meet at Saraland City Hall.
