Yesterday and Today we attended the CA Tribal Leaders Energy and Safety Summit. Got to see former Councilman Stan Rodriguez be a panelist for Tribal Ecological Knowledge. Made some good connections and found some new potential funding sources.

Had a great time at the 2026 NAFWS conference. Learned some good information about conservation efforts on tribal lands, incorporating technology with Tribal knowledge, expanding food sovereignty programs. As a reward, we took the interns to Niagara Falls and a golf range.

NAFWS Day 2 is a wrap. Got to hear presentations from BIA, USDA, NCAI, IAC, NARF, NATHPO, and FWS. Tomorrow we start break out sessions.

Made it to New York and got checked in for the conference. First plane from San Diego to Philly was a little rough, second plane from Philly to Syracuse was fine, just a small plane. Later this week staff and interns will meet and collaborate with over 350 other professionals on topics ranging from Tribal stewardship methods to Tribal Policy making.

So blessed to have future leaders here and representing the Iipay Nation in a good way!
