Dear Beloved Community,
It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we write you today. After more than a decade of shared memories, healing, and dreaming, our journey together is coming to an end. Despite our best efforts, we have been forced to make the difficult decision to close our doors and cease operations.
We know this news is as hard for you to receive as it is for us to share. Since 2012, we have gathered in celebration of music and grown together through a wealth of workshops, art, movement, and transformational experiences.
Over the years, it has grown to be much more than just a festival. Our Lucid Family expanded with each gathering. We bonded around the ceremonial fire where elders from diverse nations imparted their wisdom and traditions. Lucid children were born, engagements and marriages celebrated, birthday parties and sobriety milestones honored, and some of the most eye-opening moments of our lives unfolded within our community. We expanded further into the community, collaborating with so many important local events and movements. These experiences, filled with joy, love, and connection, represent the true essence of what we’ve built together.
Unfortunately, the challenges we have faced in recent years have proven insurmountable. The 2020-2021 COVID-19 shutdown marked the beginning of our financial struggles, but we persevered. The severe weather of 2023 tested our resilience, but we continued forward. However, this year, just weeks before our 2024 event, unforeseen last-minute changes in requirements by the County, made it impossible for us to proceed, leading to a postponement that we can not financially recover from.
We understand the trust you placed in us when you purchased your tickets, and it deeply saddens us to inform you that we are unable to provide refunds.
We deeply regret that we cannot offer you the resolution you deserve, and we are truly sorry for the disappointment and frustration this causes. Please know that this decision was not made lightly and we have exhausted every possible option to avoid this outcome. We sought government grants, loans, emergency funding, lines of credit, support from investors, and donations from our friends, family, and community. We did everything within our power to keep this dream alive.
Producing events that touch and transform lives are deeply meaningful endeavors. The synchronicities, co-created experiences, and magical moments we shared are beyond words. We want this spirit to continue. We want events that inspire and uplift to endure. We want people to keep sharing their authentic selves, in all their fullness, with the world.
Lucidity has always been more than just a business, more than just a transformational festival, and more than just another event. It was a personal playground for our Lucid Family—a space to dream, create, laugh, cry, push our limits, share our passions, explore new experiences, meet new people, and truly be ourselves. Even if the business ceases, it in no way diminishes the connection, community, and memories we’ve forged together.
As we say goodbye, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the love, energy, and passion you have brought to our events over the years. Together, we created something beautiful, something that will live on in our hearts long after the final note has played and the last flame has gone out.
Thank you for being a part of our community, for sharing the dream, and for making these years unforgettable.
With heavy hearts and endless gratitude,
The Lucidity Team
