Look at this haul! 😍

Our driver Olga picked up this beautiful donation of heirloom tomatoes from Tutti Frutti today, pallets stacked high with gorgeous organic fruit ready to head out to our nonprofit partners.

Partners like Tutti Frutti are the reason we can put fresh, high-quality produce into the hands of families across Santa Barbara County at no cost. Thank you for trusting us with this incredible food!

Ok, so Shepherd Giving Farm pulled the first Ambrosia cantaloupes this week, and we are excited to show you these beauties!

We will try to describe it properly. The skin is lighter than a regular cantaloupe, almost cream. Inside, it's more aromatic, or sweeter, or both; I'm not sure which comes first. Lighter texture too. Tom said these are his favorite melons on the planet. I believe him.

Food pantries don't get Ambrosia cantaloupes. They just don't. We're delivering these to partners who may never have had this specific melon come through their building.
Ever.

I ate some before I left the farm. Can't decide if I regret it...who am I kidding? I don't regret it one bit!

Nobody does July 4th quite like Solvang! We had an absolute blast participating in the parade and festivities again this year. We can't thank this crew enough; they showed up, dressed up, and helped pass out carrots to hundreds of kids and kids at heart.

A special thank you again to for generously donating the carrots. We loved hearing the kids chanting "carrots! carrots! carrots!" along the parade route.

We are super proud and excited to have Solomon Hills sponsor our Veggie Rescue van! Their logo now adorns both sides of our van, with a smaller one on the back. Check out the great work they are doing at solomonhillsca.com. If you see their logo on the Veggie Rescue van, be sure to let them know.

Another Fourth of July parade in Solvang. Another year of partnership with Grimmway Farms. Thank you so much, Grimmway, for supporting Veggie Rescue and our mission by allowing us to pass out your carrots in the Solvang Fourth of July parade.

We hope to see everybody there tomorrow as we celebrate America's 250th birthday.

We spent the morning at Shepherd Giving Farm, harvesting zucchini, squash, and cucumbers. With the help of a few amazing volunteers, we harvested 1,100 lb of fresh, organic, grade-A produce to give away. We also saved some eggplants from being choked out by weeds. We can't wait to see what else this farm will produce in the coming weeks.

We harvest every Monday and Thursday from 9:00 to noon. If you have a few hours and would like to be part of the work we're doing at Shepherd Giving Farm, sign up for a shift via the link in our bio. No experience necessary, just a great attitude and the willingness to put in a little sweat equity.
